can anyone post how to make sigs? cause i would like to know. I didn't make the one i have. Using GIMP

It's not really something you can sum up in one post. It takes a lot of practice and experience with your software before you can make it bring your idea to life. I wouldn't call myself good at it by any means, but I taught myself what I know by playing around in the programs and watching/reading tutorials for basic/advanced features online. When you first start, you will probably be horrible simply because you don't know what effects your software is capable of, or how to use them. However, it will grow on you and you'll begin to make better images.

It's mostly just picture editing so I don't think there's any tutorial for ''just'' sigs.
Personally I think sigs are over-rated. A lot of the time I just end up ad-blocking sigs that take up too much room in forums. I like the setup they got here that puts sigs in their own little window if they get too long. Go eGO!

GIMP is actually a very good tool, but getting used to it is a pain. It takes a lot of patience to learn how to do the more advanced things with it, but it's free.

No, they're all wrong. The only way to get a good sig is gametracker. You can get a little box that has the number of players in a server and the rank of the server. If you're curious, check out my sig. That's about as legit as you can get. Shameless self-promoting? I think not! Unfortunately, I can't put in three images and get a banner for every public INS server we have, so I had to pick favorites.
Ditto. tuts and just playign around with the various things in cs2 and 3 along with GIMP really got me to where I am. I made my own sig and I think it looks good to me.

Just make sure you take pics when you kill us.. and use them to make sigs.. its the best way to stir it up

ya if you want something that is powerful and free go with gimp i have gimp and photoshop cs3 and cs4 and there is nothing that i can do in photoshop that i cant do with gimp.
just most people use photoshop because it as less steep learning curve than gimp and adobe app are the standard for graphic design.
also depending on the kinda affect you want adobe illustrator or inkscape could also do. but these apps are for makeing vector art from scratch where photoshop and gimp are for image editing and non vector art
