Nvidia GeForce VS. ATI Radeon?

If EVGA ever sold there souls to the ATI devil, i will buy a PS3 and never look at a PC again. :P

I'm not a fanboy of either (like I've explained plenty of times before)
 
You all are free to post your views of which you think is better but do not start going at each other because one person likes something different than the other.

My personal view is I have always used EVGA Nvida cards... Had great success out of them, I was thinking about getting an ATI card for my next build but then again I am not sure if I want to try it... I am still researching. Both seem to have the Pros and Cons.
 
Personally, I really don't care what KIND of card I get, as long as I can run my games smoother. It really doesn't matter to me.
 
I just base my views on Benchmark performance and Price.....good performance decent price, theres my decision.
 
I base my views off of folding@home points per day.:P

Needless to say, I never buy ATi, and probably will not for quite a while.
 
I only have pci slots and itry togame yeah,, dont judge me.. i had ati radeon x1300 barley ran cs1.6 and source alittle now i got a sparkle nvidia geforce 9400 gt and can run css high aa af 16xq and can run cs 1.6 constant 100 and im very pleased :)
 
You should have an AGP slot too. AGP cards aren't too bad actually. They have an ATI 3850 AGP card that competes very well against the 8800gt and 3870 which are great cards.

yea.....cs source isn't so much GPU related, more CPU related....if you have a good CPU and a so-so GPU you will get good frames

Me too Ice, alot of times i have wanted to go ATI..... but when it comes down to it, i want ForecWare driver support, and EVGA customer service and warranty on top of what newegg does for you (Which is bend over backwards if needed),,

IMHO ATi catalyst drivers just do not mature fast enough for my taste, not whatsoever.

I have to disagree. The drivers are rock-solid 99% of the time. The Catalyst Control Center, however, can suck a dozen diodes. I may have been dealing with different card manufactures than you have, but I have had zero issues with the drivers on tested Operating Systems.

agreed....have had no problems with catalyst drivers and i actually just updated mine 10 mins ago
 
I think I have made up my mind, for my next build I am looking at getting the Nvidia 285gtx Superclocked edition

It'd be better to wait for the 300GTs. That's exactly what I'm going to do because the 200 series is going to be old technology soon.

I actually love eVGA and XFX because of their warranty. Basically the only reason why I buy them. And I like the look of the nVIDIA cards :P. But yeah, it all comes down to preference.

Yeah, but the problem is, when those cards first come out they are going to be crazy expensive and no one will know for sure if there are any defects or bugs that need to be worked out, I may get the gtx 295 if they lower the prices on them dramatically.
 
I've had my Nvidia 6500GT card for about 5 years now... (lol i know) and I am yet to see a reason to upgrade it... I get between 50-100 fps still in the most heated battles (On CS:S) and it doesnt overheat or anything. I havent overclocked it or anything either... Dont flame bc I still pwn half of u :)
