All of these jail maps with their little games are pretty bad. In all honesty jail was best when there was very little games, and it was a strategy to hide and find a weapon, not just hope to god the CT's down freekill you.

Im making a map. I'll post updates.

Hmm. I have the same mind set I suppose. Getting Freekilled by pubs every round is just ridiculous, I wish you luck on you're map. I'm sure it will be great.

Although I am biased since I have made one of these "jail maps with their little games" I disagree with a lot of what you say. I'll start of with saying Break_Final is a great map for it's gameplay and it's great that you have so many different options for rebelling, however with a bad warden it's just god awful on that map.

The difference between the old days and today is that people knew each other a lot more and that people were creative and a lot more relaxed with jail. Now Jail is a serious business and these jail maps with the mini games are catered to that environment.

To be honest I hate maps where the point of the game is to play hide and seek. It's long and boring, one of my biggest disappointments with maps like Break_Final. It's CSS, and jail should still reflect that.

i hate the mini games, make the game less about rebelling and more about who can play basketball.

good luck with the map, i hope it turns out nice...

It's all about the balance. If you can have a mix of mini-games and rebelling then yes I'm all for it. What's the difference between rebelling doing hot lava on a race track and doing basketball or other mini games?

I think one of the best progressions is with jb_lego_jail. Great map which allows for a ton of rebelling but yet provides a lot of fun and opportunities for rebelling. As much as I love rebelling I hate playing the same crappy games over and over again.

Just my opinion though. Good luck with your map.

At the moment I am making it in ep2.

Does the first or second look better? I might have to make texture changes, because hl2e2 textures are being used. And some portal.

I hope this map will change some aspects on jail.

Because, as a T it just isn't as fun anymore.

I like the trivia rule, but now they can only have 1 question so they have the winner pick a crazy amount to die, where's the fun in that?

I remember the other day, it took me 45 minutes to finally not get freekilled or killed in trivia to actually do something fun, which was climb, so really wasn't that great anyways. I just get tired of the same ole games every single round.

Oh, and if the CT's would be aware of what's going on at all times and actually pay attention to orders, rebelling wouldn't be as much of a problem.

I totally agree. I like jail, but I'm thinking my next jail map might also be the last. I feel like you put a ton of work into a jail map and it's starting to not be worth it any more, and stock maps give more creative freedom in my mind.

I'm hoping this turns into a real game of counter strike, not jail, if you know what I am saying.

Real game so you mean basically deathmatch where everyone has a gun and shoots each other...?

Jail is a Role Playing Game type, thats why people like it for what it is. Sure rebelling doesn't happen that often, but its the people who play the game not the maps.

We already talked about this rogue. I mean eventually if the T's can arm themselves they have an objective.

Nicely put rogue.

Rogues right, you can never change jail, it will always be a role-playing game. The maps are not the reason it has gone down hill.

I agree with Nighthawk, people don't know how jail is supposed to be played.. They just come in and have that "oh well we tell you what to do or we shoot you in the head even if you mistakenly disobey for whatever reasons" attitude.
