New Steam beta! - Read for details

What he said, unless you want to basically hand your account over to that person; don't trust them.

I've been trying to kick them off, but usually by the time I've nabbed their id, they've left to spam more servers.

:/

Like he said though, don't trust any links unless their directing to www.edgegamers.org

I like the looks of the new one, but yet.. I prefer the old one.
I didn't really get to use steam the last few days. I'll get a good look when I'm home.

Thanks for introducing the Beta Simon, You da man!

Just a warning to everyone:

I've seen people in our servers spaming links to download the new steam beta.
These are NOT to be trusted, if you want the new beta dl it yourself, not from others.

Thanks for the heads-up:thumbup:

Wow! 1000 views!

Anyways, I'm glad everyones looking at this.

anyone been able to figure out where and how the library views store there information for game such as banner, icon and background images and links.

if it uses just steam there should be same way to add that content where missing or if it uses the web rendering engine i could prolly write some user javascript to add that stuff.

Im gonna look into the actual framework later on, ill tell you if i find anything.

From what I heard, just put the disc back in and select reinstall. I don't know if you don't have the disk. But its going to take awhile. I just hope there's an explanation for it.
i found another way right click mw2 multiplayer then got to properties. After that you go to local files and then click verify integrity of cache seemed to have fixed the problem.:)

Dang, wish I knew that now after it took 2 days to reinstall (about 6 hours total). I'll recommend that to anyone else who has that problem.

On a side note, now that the downloads are finished, it seems to be running a whole lot smoother than the normal Steam.

I really like the new UI on the beta client. It's pretty close to the skin I was using before the beta. Nice and simple.

I like it, but I'm finding bugs with the ingame overlay :/

I also like it alot, just finding some bugs with ingame to D;

I noticed the overlay runs as a seperate process, but it was crashing a bit. Crashes seem to be fixed but overlay isn't working properly

Ok I got the beta and for now, I reccomend to keep the old one.

Estimate of 10,000 bugs reported xD

No really go to the forums and look at bug reports, but I still have the beta because it really doesnt bother me

Just installed it, and it is awesome :D But somethings are a bit hard to understand, but I will get there :D Thx for posting this, xSimon ! :)

The point of the beta is finding the bugs
