They already have found that TF2 on mac is considerably slower than on windows on the same system. I hope they fix some of the problems that TF2 on mac has when they are working on HL2 for mac, so both run better!!!

Yeah, TF2 has issues on Mac ATM. Oh well, I still hope it comes out soon for Mac because I have a feeling the Engie update will coincide with it.

It is possible that Valve and Apple will be able to solve such problems.. or not. anyways I really hope it does because half my friends have Macs but love TF2, HL2, and Portal. I would love to play TF2 with them, and to talk to them about Hl2:ep3 when it comes out

MAKE IT HAPPEN VALVE!

What exactly are you playing on?

Because when I run TF2 it runs smooth as a whistle.

Can't airblast without two mouse buttons!

You DO know you can set it to two mouse buttons, right?

How come threads containing the word Mac always turns into a flame fest?

This is cool and I really hope they make it happen. Of course I'm old and remember talk of TFC being ported to Mac. Oh well. I know its possible for run TF2 on a Mac right now (you're not the only one doing it McAwesome) but this will allow you to run in directly in the Mac OS and not using BootCamp or WINE or some other emulator.

What I do find funny about all the Mac threads is how most of the anti-Mac comments come from people who, based on their comments, have never used a Mac for longer than 5 minutes. I have both and there are reasons why I have both. But I'd love to have just one.

I wonder if the same angst would come forth if Valve unveiled a way for PS3 gamers to join the same TF2 servers as PC gamers?

Not to brag, but I'm able to play TF2 on my iTouch, but it's taking my whole battery in about 5 minutes. ;P

That would be sweet, as long as it gave you a decent framerate...unlike the 360 version(30 fps max). I remember reading some rumors about Valve making Steam compatible with Linux like they did with Macs...But I don't know how that would work since sony patched the ps3s other OS option. I bet it would upset some of the PC crowd if they did that.

How did you do that? Are you one of those lunatics that installed windows on your iPod touch? (and is it just me, or does calling it the itouch sound...wrong?)

Because we Mac people don't take kindly to jokes around here. :cursing:

It's all good Carmy. I did get a bit defensive there because I'm sooo used to PC fanboys bashing Mac for...well...for having a cult following of Mac fanboys who bash PC's for...well...not being Macs.

Mac = overpriced shiny thing? not really, you get what you pay for. But Apple is very niche-market oriented and are, I suspect, laughing all the way to the bank over becoming the latest hipster fad.

Mac = gaming rig? not really, but Steam is looking to change that.

Now if they could only find something to replace Microsoft Exchange Server; do that Mac, and I'll forgive you the lack of a second mouse button.
