I'm 18, and I've been driving for awhile now. My mom offered to buy me a new car. Somewhere in the 2.5k range... The thing is, i really don't know what to get. I would like an import car. So please help me pick. I need something that will last long, and not need a lot of maintenance and fixing... Here are some cars i'm looking at.

USED:
'95 BMW M3
'06 Mazda RX-8
'94 Mazda RX-7

oh btw, in the long run, i'll be doing some circuit racing with my friend who is helping me get in the racing scene...

If I was you, I'd get a German car (BMW ^^ ).
Because then I would feel more "convincing" when listening to Rammstein in a German car.

(Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. :D )

But I've heard that BMW's are expensive to fix/maintain though...

BMW's great, other than the repair costs... if you're planning on spending a lot of cash down the line get the BMW.

Since you're 18 and a male and if you go with a used BMW your car insurance will be extremely high.

All the listed cars will result in high insurance. Especially if you're planning on entering the "racing" scene.

Plus I hope he made a mistake about the 2.5k range because I highly doubt he could get any of those cars for that price.

Your wish is granted good sir

lol! i got shut up'd ahah. Well thats not reasonable, only if you have a quarter of a million dollars xD

Lol. Well I personally love BMW's for the way the body looks, kinda has a racing look to it in my opinion. Might look into getting one when i start looking for a car.

for horsepower and overall raw strength, as well as looks, get the RX - 8. its light and quick, making it useful for getting off the starting line. did i mention that it looks awesome?

If anyone know their cars. the RX-7 by far. So many more parts for it. BMW is ok. But really the only thing your paying for is the name. And we have 3 BMW's.

You DO NOT want a sports car for your first car. Even if you can afford the insurance. Being a first car, it is more prone to getting in a wreck and things like that, and since you apparently have a good taste; I'm sure you wouldn't want a car you like to be damaged.

However, if you really must have one of the three, get the RX-7, the North American M3 (I assume it's the E46) got dumbed down from the euro models to fit regulations.

Unless this is your first car BUY and not your first car, in which I misunderstood the thread title.
