There are times when Fry's is great and times when it's nearly as bad as Worst Buy. Then again...it's better to have a Fry's than be stuck w/ just a Best Buy in town; but even then you still have Newegg.

What are your thoughts on 2x64GB SSDs versus one 128GB SSD for the OS drive? Is the only difference price, or is one configuration better than the other?

You would probably see more of an improvment getting a new processor.
As far as your actual question goes, 60x2 would be much faster, but over time they would get slower because trim isn't supported in raid. Me personally, I would get 1 larger drive.

Oh yeah. I love my 80 gig Intel G2 . Alot. Everyone complains of long loading screens in Fallout which i remember from Fallout 3... In New Vegas, i barely have time to read the tips on top. You can usually get the 40 gig for $99 which is pretty awesome. You will find it much appreciated. The G3 is coming soon with some improvement, i still dig mine to death.
Anybody else interested, one of the better deals would have to be the Crucial C300. Amazing Reads and writes @ about 350 and 250/sec. 128gb runs about $269. Paid $249 for my 80 Intel. Still the only brand i could trust.
These guys are coming out and have 4 Sandforce Controllers- take a look . This is whats next, a real bootable pci SSD.
