Gaming Headsets and you!

Hey all! If you have played with me in the past you should know that I usually use my mic, well my Logitech headset brokeded...SO i went out and bought a brand new headset that was a recommendation from a good friend of mine.

$60 later i opened up my Turtle Beach X11 headset. Broke it in today, probably one of the best headsets i have ever had the pleasure of wasting money on.

I have found that with some headsets, you don't get a differentiation from left and right sounds. These headsets project sounds that come behind you too! Thus helping me kill that dumb CT/T that is shooting my friends face off behind me.

Just asking,

Which headset do you prefer and how much is it, this is for some that don't have a headset that would like one.

I would give a 10/10 to these X11s because you can take it and connect it right to your 360.

For $60 bucks, These are some of the best headsets around =D

I just use my 30 dollar earbuds I use for my mp3 player, since my laptop has a very good built-in mic, and I get the same effects.

Also, if I don't plug in my earbuds, the speakers alone from the laptop have the 3D sound to make noises sound like they're behind me too...even though the speakers are in front of me. The quality of sound/how far you can hear noises is good, but you don't have to spend that much to hear what's behind you.

At the moment, I use my laptop mic. Works fine. I give it an 8/10.

Looking into a new headset (and completely new setup) for christmas.

It's 25$ and the mic is clear. The headphones has a good bass and perfect for gaming.

I also use a Plantronics...mine's an AUDIO 645. It has good sound quality (front/back/right/left), and a decent mic. For my use, I rate it an 8/10.

I use headphones and they work great. They are worth like $5 but I can tell if someone is behind me or not. I use an old mic I found because I didn't feel like going to buy one. And I don't think anyone has had a problem with my mic and the transfer of sound through it.

The left earphone broke off of mine within several months of receiving it, and is apparently quite a common problem with them according to the reviewers on NewEgg. They were nice for a while though. Luckily I'll probably getting some SteelSeries Siberias or 3H's very soon.

I have Creative Fatal1ty's. They were pretty expensive when I bought them but they were well worth it. Very comfy and the mic and sound is great! The mic is detachable as well. Overall very good headphones. I like them.

I had a pair of Siberia's Cryptex and I honestly didn't like them as much as I like the headset I have now.

Creative wireless headset... its small but no wires and they're pretty loud too... unless you didn't charge it at night, they wont be wireless

You can have this headset on, when you grab a coke from the fridge in your room... (at least in my room lol) they're also extremely adjustible

One of my friends who were on holiday in england grabbed a pack of alienware stuff for me... Mouse, Keyboard and headset, since i cant order it in denmark(stupid dell)

I currently use the alienware headset and they're pretty reliable and big. Problem is, you cant turn the volume up very high, thats why i put special effects on everyone in vent...

8/10... The problem lies in that you cant turn the volume up very loud. If that was fixed, they'd be the world's finest headset

I don't really know what I was requested to be here for, but what the hey.

The best way to receive and transmit audio imo, is with a very comfortable pair of headphones, and a good quality desktop microphone.
Comfort is #1, since if you're just going to be gaming, the audio quality just needs to be good enough to hear what is going on. Headphones are usually loads more comfortable than headsets.
The only problem is headphones don't have mics. So you either need a clip on mic, which I do not recommend, unless it clips on to the actual headphones, and not the wire, or a desktop mic. Desktop mics are great, because they can usually just be attached to your monitor, but out of the way.

Just my 2 cents.

I hear the soundblaster arena is a good one, it's what I'm getting. I would get a Razer Megalodon but its too expensive.

I have a Logi-Tec headset that I have been using for two months now. If you don't treat them like a baby, they will die on you and make a horrible buzz sound like a bee. (Buzz, Buzz ) I already went through one that I used before, and my sister ran it over with the desk chair. ( <_< ) Well anyways, Its worth the $20 that I payed for it at Walmart. I give it a 7/10 though because they are VERY fragile, and the sound quality is not the best. The mic does work great, but it takes awhile to tweak.

$15 Logitech desktop microphone and my good headphones ($110 Audio Technica). Best choice imo since you can use the nice headphones for any other thing, as opposed to a headset which you wouldn't really use for anything else other than the computer.
