So, the 560s are out...

well my cpu is kinda trash, and i have a partially built rig that i want to finish that needs a cpu anyway. so i'll probably get a phenom II x4 965. mine is basically a x4 with its unlock but can't OC as well and some times it doesn't boot properly.
get better cooling and get it running at 3.8-4ghz and put this dual core as a dual core in the other rig. throw in another 4gb ram since its only like 60 bucks now and eventually, when need be, crossfire 5850s

that will last a while, until x6 is nearly needed or being utilized for games, which won't be for years

I know what I'm buying next now.

The 275 done me well :)

My 4850 tri-fire???

NICE!!! :P

Sale forum is sooo slowwww.....must get those 50 post on hardforum xD

Anyways, the 560's are great especially since these are all aftermarket coolers for the retail price

get the MSI twin frozer, someone OC'ed it to over 1000 mhz on the core clock and it was still very low temps

Nvidia chipset.

I'm still just interested to see if DX11 is really that great. Hopefully Skyrim will support it.

lol i have yet to actually play a full DX11 game since getting my 460's..........only bad company 2 but its not full DX 11, only DX 11 compatible.

I should probably install dirt 2 again, maybe later on

DX11 did look pretty insane though in the Unigine benchmark

dirt 2 is pretty good with the dx11, tho i haven't played a lot of that game yet, i gotta finish it now that i have a controller

i figured dx11 would catch on a whole lot faster than what dx10 did, but ya...its slow going. lets see some releases!! what was it, alien vs predator 84 or whatever was supposed to support it fully but it was a flop so

I really hope it has DX11. Although Bethesda really catered to consoles, so I don't know if it will. :(

DX11 would catch if consoles weren't stuck on DX9. That's were all the money is at. Why make a DX11 game when 80% of the people playing the game are on consoles running DX9? DX11 isn't as easy to work with, or get to run like DX9 has.
The main reason I hate consoles is because they hold the tech back. Everything is 'good enough', so why change?

apparently metro is only dx11 on the characters

The characters have tessellation, and there is a more accurate depth of field shader doin' its business.

ya good point on the consoles
bah, stupid consoles killing pc gaming!

They're not killing it.
They're just lowering the quality and the future quality.
They're just pushing out more games, but the quality isn't improving. Sure, they're making more money, but that says nothing about the quality.

It uses DX11....... Just becuase it doesn't use Tesselation doesn't mean it isn't dx11.......

Mostly uses the shadows and DOF/HBAO

eh, i think when new consoles come out, all will be fine. Notice how most of the current consoles came out in like 05/06, and that was like the peak in PC gaming.

That's the problem, though. I have a feeling that new consoles won't come out for quite a while.

Question: How much better is the 560Ti then a 460 at 800MHz? Is it worth the extra cash if I am planning on putting in 2 560's at SLi at a later stage?

Looking at benchmarks made by sweclockers, the 560 isn't really that much better then it's likes at ATI, but I'd like your opinion on it.

It's better than the 6870 that costs the same, and it's a lot better than the 460, but costs more.

An overclocked 460 at my speeds is > or = to a 470. The 560 is a bit faster than a 470 but you can overclock more.

In all honesty, if you SLI the 460's theres not really anything you can't play especially overclocked. I can ran any game maxed right now pretty much except like metro and stuff.

If you have the cash tho, yea the 560's in SLI is an amazing option. Only competitor is the 6950 crossfire
