Ideas to get the Zombie Server Populated

So I've been noticing that we have a Zombie Server, but it lacks something... players...

I want to know what you guys think to help the server get more members to play as well as pubs and keeping them on the server.

Poll Options In Detail:

Leave the server as is.

  • Keep the classes, configs, and maps as they are now.


Change the up the zombie classes

  • Change the current zombie classes' knockback, HP, HP regenerations, jump distance
  • Notice: If Jump Distance is changed, then those bunnyhopping will be W/K/B. Even humans.


Add in Survival Maps

  • Add barricading/camping maps into the server rotation
  • Possible Addon maybe added: Crouching only with Pistols
  • Maps may need to have their own configs


Change the server to Survival Maps Only

  • Change the server to Survival Maps Only (Barricading / Camping)
  • Possible Addon maybe added: Crouching only with Pistols
  • Maps will have to uploaded and set up for the rotation
  • No Escape Maps


More Maps

  • Because 30 escape maps isn't enough
  • More maps


Add more classes

  • Add new zombie classes
  • Add human classes (Possibility)
  • Speeds cannot be changed
  • As mentioned above, jump distances mean admins will be watching for bunnyhoppers


Add Stats

  • Add stats to Zombie Server
  • Would require looking for the right Stats addon (specifically for Zombies)


More gatherings or mini-events (announcements)

  • More announcements to get people
  • More mini-events such as CC give aways for joining


Other

  • You give ideas


I was one of those who wanted a Zombie Server, but now I don't want to support it

  • You wanted this server, but now you won't even look at it D:!
  • Its Zombies, everyone likes zombies
  • We won't ever get another zombie server again, if this doesn't work out
  • Don't petition for a zombie server when we don't have one
  • Soul of a Zombier will be sad if his home is taken away from him








What wont be possible:

  • 24/7 Map or 24/7 Map Types aka 24/7 Lila Panic Maps Only

  • Changing zombie speeds. Valve broke client speeds and they're still broken.

  • Maps that are or contain items against EdgeGamer's Rules

I like that. Ive spent a total of around 5 minutes on the Zombie escape server, reason being I find zombie escape boring. its always fun barricading up with a few friends and shooting the zombies out. So thats my choice.
 
Survival and Escape mixed rotation and If ZSpawn is still on there makes sure there isn't a timer of how long the Zombies have before they cannot spawn anymore (30 seconds after the first zombie is chosen I think it is/was).

Events and Mini Events would work to. Reduce knock back on all classes (by how much I dont know but not a lot but just a little in my opinion). Have a vote on which Escape maps seem to be the most fun and/or popular. Keep them and then remove the rest, and like Ive said above add Survival maps.
 
Survival is the best mode but in making it better i guess we can make it a event and maybe people will show up in and giving a CSS achievement Called Brains!?

both are fine by me

i dont mind playing the occational escape map

but when its a server of nothing but ZE it gets boring fast
 
Add in survivor maps (do not make it just survivor though) I think this will increase popularity.
Add stats, keep the stat loving people playing
Add (better) maps. Some of the maps we have are lag monsters -_-
Moar events.. keep it interesting
Moar classes, also to keep it interesting.

Survival mixed in with escape maps.
The gatherings mini events.
More maps.
Stats.

That doesn't keep the server populated on the long term. Events work great for a short term boost of players, but they all leave after an hour or a few hours and nobody joins to replenish the human casualties. I've personally never played zombie survival, so I can't really vote for something I haven't played yet, but I think more needs to be done than just adding more random events.
 
Add a bunch of new eGO members.
Invite them to fill up the zombie server.
???
Most of them will when requested by higher authority.
 
I would say put Survival maps on with the escape maps and see what gets played more. If it's obvious that survival maps are the more popular, then we could move on to Survival only.

Adding human classes would be interesting, but I've never played a server where humans had any sort of ability, so I don't know.

I don't like the idea of increased jump speeds because I think warning and kicking for bunnyhopping would turn more people away than it would bring in, so it's probably best to just leave the jumps as is.
 
The way the old zombie mod was 2 years ago.........When it was nearley full all the time :D
 
I say we add Camping/Barricading maps, leave on the escape maps but have a higher percentage of Camping ones! Of course we need to keep advertising it with announcements and all that!

I really think this would attract a LOT more people! Oh and you should put in a few know maps like Lila Panic and stuff!
 
I'll just say what I said in my last post

-Add stats because it will keep pubs coming back
-Add more classes and maps for obvious reason
-Human classes really increase the fun in this, and I used to be addicted to a zombie server which had human classes. The classes there did not have any abilities, and were only there for show. However this would increase the download time by a lot
-If you were to keep the server to non-unlimited ammo, then in my opinion survival maps are pointless
-Also, in my opinion making events a weekly thing would not be good for the server because people would avoid it until that day because they know that most people will be on then.
