Why the hate on Dustbowl? It'll get our ranking up super fast.

someone in BM chat said it's closing, i was like april fool sucka. then i go in vent and it's all serious and all. this is like a double april fool or something else.
we had "fill blackmesa" movement, it went pretty good...it was good to a point that nobody went in other servers lol. than someone from leadership or whereever said "mesa isn't in trouble if other servers are full"...so we take time to fill other servers...and now bam BM is gone.
for for crying out loud, u serious? dust ball? it's the worst [censored] map in valve history. put egypt or put some good valve map.
still hoping this is april fool :facewall:
P.S. yes i mad.
ShawnJ and I were one of the top 10 players with play time on mesa, not that that matters anymore, and this thread specifically stated that as long as the other servers were full Mesa would be safe. The other three server are almost always full and I'm not a big fan of dustbowl so don't expect to find me on there like with Mesa.
I know I missed the meeting, which by the way I wish was plastered more loudly on the forums, since the only mention of it I recall was at the clan meeting and was soon forgotten over the coming week and unless one happens to be online today, which I was not, there was no way of knowing about it until it was too late.
Needless to say I'm not a happy camper about this at all. I certainly hope for you old school and die hard Mesa fans that your opinions on this matter were voiced for those of us who didn't make the meeting.
End of line.
I love mesa, its why I joined eGO and stayed in eGO for a year until mental buga showed me how awesome events are and stuff. i've already said i've made a lot of friends and i always will love it, which is why i am hosting events for it every week.
BUT, sadly, this is like every other server change we've had. Its not like leadership is just this evil group of people who change the server to piss us off, they are simply this evil group of people that got rid of the server because no one was playing on it. Really.
Every other time a beloved yet empty server was changed (turbine, valve maps before it was removed, dustbowl, gravel pit, egypt, etc.) They were removed because not enough people were playing on them, and when they finally did remove them, there were threads on threads on threads of people crying about it. The thing was, is that more people complained about it then actually help and try to save it. If you guys really want mesa back, and i'm not just trying to advertise my events, is go to the blackmesa events i'm hosting. If there constantly full, i'll show the attendance every week to sloppie or a DL, showing that people really are willing to play on mesa and fill it when it needs to, instead of just play minecraft or dungeon defenders or whatever noise plays and say to fill it while not doing anything.
The threads you see here Noise are from the members who "did" try to keep it alive by actually playing on the server for the majority of the time. Heck even Doom and I asked on multiple occasions to fast fill Mesa and at most only got maybe 10-16 people total to show and majority of them were new recruits. So, if it appears that I am "crying" about it is because I have just cause to do so because I was one of the few who actually tried to keep Mesa alive.
Having Mesa as an event is a nice thought and of course it's going to be full since there is no other location hosting that server anymore and most of us love that map lol. But, honestly who is going to have the patience to wait in line to play mesa when the majority of the TF2 division is clamoring to log in?
In my honest opinion I don't see showing leadership a full roster for a mesa event is likely to bring it back.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
