Well this thread is quiet. Anyway, I just finished the first season of Sekirei and I will say, for what that show is so far, it has a nice story to it. Will be starting the second season soon :)

I finished Mirai Nikki this weekend, not too bad. Get's a little crazy near the end but worth a watch

Currently watching Acchi Kocchi, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, and Kobato.

I must say, I am rather surprised on the graphic work in Kobato. It looks very nice, one of the best character designs I have seen in a while. I am only 3 episodes in, so I can't really say much about content yet.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san is a pretty funny anime, although there isn't too much of a storyline to it though.

Acchi Kocchi is an OK anime, I haven't been keeping up with it lately, doesn't appeal to me much. I will eventually finish it though.

Haiyore isn't supposed to have a story to it. It's pretty much a parody show that will make fun of over used cliches and use famous scenes from other anime.

ATTENTION DUELISTS!

I am posting all of the Yugioh Japanese openings.

Just finished Higurashi no naku koro ni. I'm sorry I watched Ni Kai first, because it spoiled a good chunk of the series. I enjoyed it though, even though it gets sad and pathetic towards the end of the series. Not sure what I should watch next.

Now that is the original season of Yu-gi-oh that I grew up to and liked a lot, now it's just nonsense being animated weekly to make money off the name. Same can be said for Pokemon. The only one which kept it real and finished off after a few seasons was Digimon, used to watch that every Saturday morning.

I thought Digimon had a new season recently? But I totally agree with you.

Yep, digimon had a new season, Xros wars...it was pretty cool, but the best episode was when every single protagonist from all the previous digimon seasons appeared....it was simply awesome

So this starts the last week of the spring anime (with the exception of 24 episode shows). So what was everyone's favorite show and your biggest let down?

My favorite was probably Sankarea and the biggest let down was kore wa zombie desu ka? second season. Not only did they use jokes from the first season, it was only 10 episodes and it just ended. There was no real ending to it.

okay, first of all, how do you do the spoiler thingy?

And second....Anime/Manga thread? hell yes!

Any mangas you're following?

for me it would be:

Hayate the combat Butler
The World God Only Knows
To LOVE Ru Darkness

about to start Yumekui Merry,Daily lives of highschool boys

brackets

Also I renamed the thread because I'm sure this thread is the only official anime/manga thread

Marathoned Buso Renkin this weekend as well as got halfway through G gundam. Buso Renkin was better than I hoped it would be. Dubbing is solid, story is well put together. A definate recommendation from me. Work on monday and tuesday will hopefully see the rest of G gundam. I also started Deadman Wonderland. Got up to episode 3 and am thoroughly enjoying it so far.

I watched a movie called "The Sky Crawlers" yesterday.

Plot

On an alternate future Earth, there is no longer any war between nations. Peace reigns over the entire planet. However, it's been found that people need the tension and excitement of war -- even experienced vicariously -- to truly feel alive. To fill this need, staged "wars" between various corporations provide the excitement and nervous tension that actual wars had provided. The Sky Crawlers follows the events of one group of young pilots working for one of the corporations as they engage in aerial dogfights with pilots of another corporation.

..........

This was probably one of the most visually pleasing animi's I've ever seen. The Areal combat and aircraft scenes rival anything that Hollywood has done. It really was that good.

The story line was somewhat weak. I had guessed what was going on about 1/2 way thru the movie. (Make sure to watch past the credits).

The only bad thing, is while it was done mostly in Japanese, every once in awhile they would switch to English. For some reason, whenever they were flying, they would speak English. And it was baaad English.

But the more I thought about that, the more i realized.. hey.. that's probably more realistic. Why SHOULD they speak perfect english when they switch to it?

Anyways, I would recommend watching this movie. Very good animation.

Anyone pumped for the summer season? The show that I most looking foward to is "Sword Art Online", as for a synopsis...think .//hack but a lot better!!!

Here is the plot taken from the wiki. The story is an adaption from a light novel series.

In the year 2022, the Virtual reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) Sword Art Online (SAO) is released. With the Nerve Gear, a VR Helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. But an unexpected event occurs on November 6, 2022 when Akihiko Kayaba, the creator of SAO, prevents the players from logging out. Akihiko issues them a challenge; if they wish to be free and log out of the game, they must reached the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, should their in-game characters die in the game, so will their bodies in the real world. As the game's 10,000 players try to accept their new deadly predicament, Kirito, a skilled player who tested the beta version of the game, is determined to reach the 100th floor and be free. Along with Asuna, his partner and love interest, and their friends, Kirito and his allies will face many obstacles and discovers the true purpose of SAO. As their adventure continues, they will also participate in other VRMMO games as well.

And here is a trailer!!!

good luck Caco! and bring photos!

I'm going to Animex (sort of the Mexican equivalent of AX) next weekend, already have my ticket :P

and about my favorite shows last season, I'll have to say it'd be a tie between Fate/Zero and Kore wa zombie (and probably upotte!), and well, I don't have my letdown because that's the only 2 shows I've finished

Jormungand was surprisingly boring for me. This soon to be past season I enjoyed Kids on the Slope, Tsuritama [the fishing one], and Space Brothers. Very decent season for the slice-of-life lovers.

anyways, excited for Yuru Yuri 2.
