Hello eGO clan. Let me start by saying I have huge respect for all the bc2 admins and I'm sure that can encompass the clan as a whole. I have put thousands of hours into this game and in particular in the gunships. I have gotten better and better at aiming the rocket salvos and lately it has gotten to the point where I can almost last a whole game without getting shot down, provided I'm not up against some of the more elite rocketeers. I understand how my gameplay can get others pissed and it often does. I get called a hacker almost every game. I take pride in my chopper skills and I hope to continue to improve them. I want to shout out Kortoga for responsibly and respectfully looking into the situation. In the end I'm not sure what you will decide, but I have to make it clear I have never cheated or hacked in any way and would be happy to record some high quality gameplay video to support this. Sadly this has not stopped admins on different servers from banning me in the past. I'm hoping that won't happen here. Thanks.

its interresting, how admins / game itself will handle skill-gap getting wider and wider. in my oppinion, this will kill the game in long run (and not lack of new players). because going with k/d 30:0, 50:0.. means, someone has lot of deaths compared to low kill amount. and noone likes to be mocked.

Old payers can exploit game mechanics (e.g. tanks on UAV hill or "drunk" heli style in safe distance). if used right and while being on superior team, it kills the game (heavy metal only, of course)

admins have only 2 bad options:
1. ban supperior players (regulars) and without reulars, game dies.
2. leave supperior players play..casuals or new players leave and never come back = game dies.

My opinion is, superior players should start behaving "responsible" in terms of tactics used. casual player have to FEEL, thet they have at least a chance.

does not matter, it its mimichaingun (aka demon) or others..

Hi Hell,

I have my leadership review your case . Get back to you soon.

Thanks

XM-M8 good points man, it's a troublesome situation for the admins. If I am banned, I won't take it personally because I see the reasoning. The only regret will be that I can no longer see my name rising in the rankings. I gotta catch up to Mr. Lemigs. Anyways here's another way to look at the situation. Every game needs a villain right? I think some players embrace the challenge of going up against seasoned veterans, and the satisfaction for killing a good player is greater. All seems well until someone cries hacks, after which other players who are new or just look at a high ratio and assume the worst get on board. Pretty soon the chat is nothing but whiny shit talk directed at me when I'm just an honest good player. Feels bad man. I have read the rules and follow them, I play hard, and I play to win. In the end it is not my server and I'll do my best to respect the official decision (I think as of now I am banned at least temporarily) but frankly I can't promise I won't make a guest appearance on an alt account when I get the itch. I have grown to like many of the regulars and I'd be sad to have to say goodbye to this classic game and server. Thanks for the replies. Peace.

Hey, I'd love to see some videos. I don't think you're cheating; I just think I might learn something.

Hell,

I was the admin that temporary banned you last week. Let me give some insight into what went into the decision . . .

First (and I'm kind of skipping to the end here), I NEVER permanently ban anyone. As far as I remember, that's true of all admins in BC2. We temporary ban, and then fill out a ban request which is reviewed by leadership. The ultimate decision goes to someone not caught up in the game at the time, with an objective eye. From my experience, the folks who make that decision give the players the benefit of the doubt, not the admin. So long as you don't casually drop an N-bomb, flagrantly base rape every game, etc., getting permanently banned is nearly impossible.

Second, banning based on hacking is EXTREMELY difficult. There is no easy way to find out, absent someone posting on Youtube that they have a new hack. There are some clues, but they are rare and sometimes found only by luck.

Third, players protest hackers ALL THE TIME. Most of the time I just blow it off, maybe check the current player list and check k/d, but if it gets extreme I end up going to the gameme stats page and checking. Most of the time that's just so I can go back into the game, tell the players I've checked and don't see any signs, and move on.

Now, as to your situation, the "rumors" have been circulating a lot over the last month. It's probably not quite this bad, but it seemed like every third time I joined a game someone was complaining. In one case, I got into a game right at the end of a game, and I heard from three or four regular players that I needed to watch you. That game ended, and you didn't rejoin the next game. (Which led to them saying, "See, he knows there's an admin there now.") I checked your stats real quick, and told them I didn't see it, and moved on. A couple urged me to dig deeper, and I said I would.

A day or two before I did the temp ban I checked your stats again. The weird thing (to me at least) was that the stats for Hell No. 1 were about 60% higher than the stats for minichaingun. Here are two soldier names, by the same guy, and one has a "good player" k/d of 2.8 while the other has a "wow" k/d of 4.5. These are not two soldier names you've used over time, but two that you've used at about the same time. So I made a mental note to sit back some game and just watch.

(I should point out that I work from home, and if I finish a work project I go through a routine where I'll check the Heavy Metal server, scroll the chat log to see if someone is complaining, join the game if they are, and leave. Sometimes I do it just if I want a break from the work too. On this time I saw that you were in game, and someone was complaining, which reminded me to double check the stats.)

On the day that I banned you I joined a game, you were playing, and someone complained. I acknowledged the complaint and just resolved myself with "well, we'll see what happens." During the game you killed me twice; the first was when you flanked me, nothing suspicious there. But the second you were hundreds of meters away, I was moving laterally to you, and I died just as fast. I don't know whether I was spotted by your team or not. Suddenly I was dead, just like you'd got the drop on me before but you were 300 meters away, and just as fast.

Now THAT was suspicious. And ENG kit, 300 meters, against a running target moving laterally . . . It would have taken me at least two full magazine to maybe get a kill at that range. Frankly, I said "Someone else has to look at this" and decided on the temporary ban. As you know, the ban was denied.

Hope that helps explain what I was thinking. It really isn't personal, although it might seem that way. In my experience, we all really do TRY to get it right every time. But like most humans we come up short on a regular basis. If not then PM me and we can talk about it.

Papa

I am only commenting here because my name was brought up initially.

As a player I love other players who are experienced and can play this game. We all know BFBC2 rewards those experienced players who work at getting better. But that statement does not mean experienced players get free rides from being side killed or killed from players who come up from blind spots. Remember, the game is designed to have NO hiding spots and always multiple angels you can be attacked from...mostly.
With that said, unless you are exploiting the UAV hill with a tank, flying, or using a vehicle, your player is subject to being seen, spotted and killed by someone not on your "attack" radar.
Papa described a good situation above that I am trying to explain. Basically there are times when it does not matter how good your are there will be another player who fires at you and kills you and there was nothing you could do to stop it, simply because you were attacking another target or you had no idea that other player was there. Spawning and being immediately killed is a good example also.

With that said, when a player shows a 105/6 KD in a game I get really suspicious. And when that player is on foot, not even using a vehicle, I get off the chart suspicious. And when this goes on game after game for 3-4 rounds, I cannot describe how suspect this is to me. Simply because the basic statistics of a full server dictate you cannot watch everywhere all the time and there will be players that target you that you do not expect. On foot you will encounter tons of 1 on 1s. Hell seems to come out on top with every single 1 on 1. Which to me is suspect. When I am saying he is on foot I mean it literally. He does NOT stay back secure at a base while everyone else attacks and gets in the middle of it. He attacks and get all up in it. And still somehow survives...all while doing some major killing.
I have speced him a few times and have seen him get hit, turn and kill everyone he encountered.
In no way is that hacking or cheating, but like papa said, it all adds up to red flags that point in that direction.

Lately I have been in multiple games with Hell and he created an astounding K/d while on foot. While even our best regulars were no where near his in game K/d.
So when we have all played thousands of hours and know how many times we have been killed and there was Nothing we could have done to stop it, and we witness a player who does not seem to ever encounter random situations game after game after game, the red flag pops up.

I am all for great players. But at some point the BS meter may not say BS, but riding the line a huge percentage of the time is a pretty good indicator something is making that meter ride the line and Not go over.

================
Also, I do not agree with the philosophy experienced players will drive away inexperienced players and so forth. Players come to our Heavy Metal server knowing what to expect. This game has been around for a long time, it is nothing new. Our server is the only one that is still highly admin'ed. Which is why players join our games.
The admin system is not perfect, but we admin do keep the place clean as best we can. And the gaming world knows that, which is why our server stays full most of the time.
================

As far as having 2 different accounts with 2 different K/D stats that are far from being near each other. That is another red flag you do not see with normal gaming. Another clue there is something else keeping that BS meter pegged right under the BS alarm.

My take on falsely calling someone out (someone like Hell) as hacking or cheating. I am not talking about randomly calling someone a hacker or cheater. I have explained 2 really good reasons to be suspect above.
If a player or anyone in any situation decides to ride the line, play right at the edge of the rules, push the envelope, always right at the edge of performance...then when the admin, ref, or rule makers decide to make a decision if the player is out or safe (because it is a close call at the edge), then tough luck if the decision does not go your way. Do not play at the edge...because the edge is a place where decisions get made by looking at the pieces of a puzzle. Whereas playing well within the game rules creates hard unbiased decisions of every situation.

An example: A player never goes near the uncaps, not even within 100 ft. of it. That player will never get kicked for being suspected of base killing or entering the uncaps. But another player constantly hangs out right on the edge of the uncaps and during a really bad round of base killing and other players entering the uncaps gets kicked. Was it fair to kick him? Who knows? Was he base killing or entering the uncaps? Close call to make, hard to gather all the evidence to really ensure the right perfect decision was made when all hell was breaking loose on the server. But one thing that can be said, the players that where not hanging out right on the edge of the rule were not kicked or accused of base killing.
You push things to the edge, sometimes you find it.

If you made it this far, thanks...I can certainly ramble...
This post was not trying to figure out if it is right or wrong for accusing players of cheating, it was designed to express when riding the line (which Hell is obviously aware of where that line is), then do not be upset when the admin have to make decisions that can go either way. Do not ride the line if you do not want a bad outcome.

105/6 KD? Did that really happen? Did it happen while there were good players on the other team?

My personal best K/D is 86/29 -- but that was when the other team just wasn't any good. It was like stomping a room full of ducklings.

Yeah, he really did go 105/6, and he really was on foot for most of the game. I was there, lots of people were complaining about it, and it was week after my tban was overruled and I really felt powerless.

It was, to say the least, a "server disruption."

Hello guys, sorry I was not watching this thread or I would have replied sooner. After getting the "ok" as you have seen I've been playing without thinking too much of it. However, I would like to address all of your points. For starters let me make the record clear, it was not 105/6 but 100/17. This is now my record for amount of kills reached on the server. I have gotten 100 before but that time it was something like 34 deaths instead of 17. I would like to try and record some gameplay today in the server if that's cool. I will try to show my techniques on foot and helo/tank. It is true what Papa said about taking him out from far away while he was running laterally. Though I don't recall the exact instance it's something I have managed to achieve several times almost perfectly but then there are countless other times where I can miss almost every shot. If you are leading the target correctly, in my case he is always spotted when i do this, it is possible to land almost every shot if you get the distance right. Not to say this is an easy task, takes a bit of luck and good hit reg, but it is possible. I have been playing this game almost non stop for the past year and have improved quite a bit in this time, largely in part to my getting a new kick ass PC. In the case of my Demon soldier having better stats than minichaingun, this I can attribute to my conscious effort to play in a way to keep myself alive as much as possible. In comparison on minichaingun I was going for plats for all weapons so spending much less time in vehicles and more on ground with kits that aren't the most effective for Heavy Metal. There are games where I'm on foot for half or even most, but I will always go for the chopper when available and I only really choose to be on foot when there's a tactical advantage to it. If we have B and there are enemy choppers closing in I'll spawn B real quick, bust out the AT4 and get to work. This is one aspect of my play that has improved considerably in the past few months, and this is very important for getting out of the thick of battle alive. I have been looking at player stats a lot myself and really want to beat the record kill streak for the server which I believe is around 72. I have been purposely going for high streaks and the best way to stay alive and rack up kills for me is with apache/havoc. This is the main reason my K/D on Demon is so much higher than minichaingun. I am aiming for streaks and I'm a good enough player to get at least 5 or 6 kills before getting shot down. When I do get shot down, I try to bail every time. This sometimes puts me far forward in enemy territory where at least a few enemies are aware of my position and I know they'll be coming to get me. The giant rocks between A and B are a spot I will often post up. There is great cover from enemy Russian positions and all I have to do is stay alive so I'm not pushing forward unless my team is already pushing into A as well. I'm constantly peeking out left and right looking for approaching infantry, tanks, and helis. If we're still stuck on B I'll wait for the right moment, maybe just til I'm out of ammo, to hoof it back to B and hop in a tank and the streak starts again without ever ending. So although the K/D stat may be considerably higher on Demon, my kills per minute has remained about the same, and my weapon accuracy still hovers around 21%. Another factor that has to be considered is the opponent I'm facing. Since creating Hell No.1 Demon, I have seen YellowBanana maybe once, GameOver66 once, Leo_Lam has been completely absent. These are players who when I'm against them can almost completely shut me down in the air. Just one good AT4 completely changes the way I have to fly and if I'm not getting shot down then I'm probably staying back and in the end being much less of a threat. My usual response is to grab a tank and try to move in but chances are without heli we already lost B. Not having these guys in the lobby lately has given me a bit of a free reign because with a little shifty movement I can usually avoid being shot down. Anyways guys thanks for the replies and reading this and everything else. I hate to be a cause of controversy for you all. I will post some video within the next couple days. It's all I can really think to do at this point. If you are awaiting the video, feel free to look at my youtube account where you can find some footage captured within the past year. Most of it was on the old PC though so the quality isn't spectacular but it at least shows a bit of what I can do.

OK that's enough for now, not gonna take time to proof read this monstrosity so please ignore any obvious errors...

OK, Hell just described my entire best game ever (that I have never played), nothing said about any random kills we all experience just because there is no way to stop some random player killing you even when in enemy territory.

I have to say this, every time I am on his team he lets me spec him.
Which is cool. But when spec'ing him I also do not see him rack up the unbelievable K/D that we are talking about. He plays very conservatively. Very team like, like he is helping the "team" to win.
During those games he hits the K/D of normal really good players.
========================
Jesus Christ who the hell am I fooling here? I have been playing this game for over 5 years. Either myself and all the other admin (and regulars) suck or this guy is a freaking genius at playing professionally and has walked right past his calling. Why the hell isn't he making tons of money playing shooters like he does this game. I mean come on? Really? He even knows he is that dang good to post here to de-flame the issue!

Are we dealing with a pro player here that loves a game this old?
Or are we dealing with a hack we cannot put our finger on? I would pull the trigger on hack.
But at my level this is not my call. So I stay at the level I am and continue to work at this level.

Grrrrrrrr,
Keep looking up,
Kortoga

Ok. I'll just put in my 2 cents real quick. I've known minichaingun/Lord Shiga for a long time and have always thought he's one of the great players in BC2 and have played many times with him. However, recently as he's been playing as Hell Demon I have to admit, it seems like he's literally twice as good as he ever was ''normally'' as well as being much MUCH better than any other veteran player I know by a long shot. I hope there's no shenanigans involved, but as I've been playing this game non-stop since the week it came out.....things are strange. Either that or he's really focused and kudos to him.

Just played 2 games with Hell, and he hit a whopping low aced less than 20 kills each game.
Now how is that possible?
Can't even hit less than half his normal kills, which I have seen him hit over 80 per game for 3 games in a row.
Now that this thread is live he cannot hit over 20.
Gave some lame aced excuse, "Typing", or "not really trying". Really?

Look, I can stop right now because I feel like I am throwing out hackuzations, but seriously?
How does a player hit easily over 100 kills in 1 game, 2-3 games in a dang row, grabs over 1/5 the amount of tickets in 1 game...out of a full server, then cant even break 20 over 2-3 games?

How is that even possible. I have never hit over 50 in 1 game, and even when I came close I didn't hit it the next game or the next, or the next 50 games ltr.
But this guy hits over 100 a few games in a row? And he calls himself good, then cant keep that up? or even close to it?
I call BS on this BS.

I always try to think that a player is legit rather than a hack. From what I have read on aimbots, seen in game and in videos, they can be very difficult to spot even when looking at stats. A good player using a bot effectively would be difficult to pick out.

The loser when we have a genuine cheater or a great player on the server is... any other player in the game at the time. Players don't like hacks and they don't appreciate dominance either. To me both disrupt the server. We have players with longtime service in this game, also experienced players from other games as well as raw recruits. When the word "hack" comes out in chat it shows a frustration at not being able to perform to expectation but I think more it just takes the fun out of playing.

When a great player is on your side, well we all like that but it doesn't work out that way all the time. A tank on the hill, a team with one or two good heli pilots or a skilled AT guy can win the battle for a team but also ruin a match. When it happens again and then for another game or so I think one can get "shell shocked", lol! Dominance, by a great player OR a hack both do the same damage. This is all just for fun isn't it? Is DOMINATING 31 people really that much fun?

its normal to have different scores in different rounds (hit detection, ping, alcohol, fatigue, mood, cold hands, time, ENEMIES..). Its interresting, how different gameplay in morning/day/night/week/weekend/steam sales

For me, best for overal kill amount is, when enemy is trying to push B and its semi-skilled and motivated. Good enough to play aggressive, not good enough to kill me. Pushing with heli, but flying in straight line (semi-skilled at4 player can hit it 9 out 10 times) + there is nobody to steal my kills. add to it 2-3 beers.. :)

Tip for long shots (i use XM8 engi):
1. tap tap tap
2. is enemy runs to the side (e.g. left) and he is in medium/long range, shoot tap tap tap and also move to the same side (left) by taping "A" (tap tap tap). it reduces recoil to almost zero.

Funny is, that i find minichaingun more dangerous and harder to kill on the ground (gunfight) than in the air. His heli skills are above average, but not insane. You guys should push yourself more into AT4 (try different FOV, mouse sensitivity, play with colors and contrast).

Looking at his stats, you can see clearly higher KD on demon account, but with clearly lower headshot rate. Just because all the kills are mady by vehicles. And shame on you for that:)

Hey guys wrote up a big response last night, then when I went to post it I got some issue and my wall of text would not post. I will try to summarize now. I have been guilty of abusing this game and here is how. I am going through some issues in reality lately and I have been using this game as an escape from my problems. To me, bc2 is addictive like a drug. I often play for long hours and by making this game a constant thing to focus on I have developed skills quicker than one should. I have to admit, dominating 31 players is fun to me. Playing the game at my highest level is fun to me. Getting quick multi kills or staying alive against all odds is a huge rush and it's what keeps me coming back for more. Only now do I wish I paced myself because now I'm facing a most upsetting dilemma. I am too good to just jump in a public lobby and play the game how I do. I know there are players out there who are even better than me but sadly most of them don't play this game anymore. While I would love to move on and find another game to enjoy, I just can't. I can't find a game that pleases my senses more than bc2. XM-M8 thank you for your input, you are spot on (nice screenshots too). When I play I usually don't hold back. I will never hold back on an opponent just because they are an admin. All that I am guilty of here is pushing too hard to be at the top of the leaderboards. I have always taken video games too seriously and it's something I'm working on. I apologize for ruining countless games with my manic like focus and relentless efforts. Most people play for fun, I play like my life depends on it because if I'm not it feels like a waste of time. Clearly I have an unhealthy relationship with gaming, and a lot of different emotions are involved. I feel now I have ruined a good thing you guys all had going. I have upset the balance to stroke my own ego and now I'm facing the consequences. All that I want is to be accepted by the community but I'm not sure that will ever happen with my style of play. So although my gameplay is 100% legit, I still feel in the wrong for taking things too seriously. I am proud of the heights I have reached in skill, but there is also a bit of shame since who cares about being good at video games, right? Maybe I am wasting my own life, I try not to think about it. I always dreamed of playing pro, but I think I kind of missed the bus for that because I can't stand any of the new popular shooters.

On another note. I have recently uploaded three different videos each one very different. A perfect round of heavy metal where I go 42-0. A tough round of metal, where I feel I played very well despite a high death count. Last, and most recent, a complete slaughter-fest of a game in which I am on rush defense on Valparaiso with an undermanned team. Please give them a look if you want to see my "aimbot" in action.

I have played with him on my team and against him . Nice to have a very good player on the team.

Thanks for the vids Demon! I didn't know how to do the quick reload interrupt, but your vids taught me how! I still can't aim my AT4 worth a damn but I'll be able to fill the sky with more rockets now :)
