It's been a few days since our EdgeGamers 14th Birthday announcements. The largest of which were our announcements of transitioning to EdgeGamers.com and XenForo. We've received a handful of questions, suggestions and recommendations on how to proceed. We appreciate these! Keep them coming. Additionally, I figured a brief announcement with "where we are at" would assist you all in understanding our current course of direction to better assist your next recommendations. After working with the Tech Team under Covert's guidance I have compiled the following for your review...
Where We're at Today
- EdgeGamers domain transitioned from Edge-Gamers.com to EdgeGamers.com (one word)
- Forum upgrade was completed transitioning from vBulletin to XenForo
- Bare bones theme with logo and proper EdgeGamers colors added
- Favicon has been updated
- User Permissions completely recreated
- All private sub forum groups are now functional
- Leadership permissions have begun to flesh out
- Some moderator or administrative forum functions still being worked on
- Advanced forms are making a return
- MAUL integration with XenForo started, MAUL button on nav has been readded
- Subscription and payment system reworked for XenForo (Dedicated Supporter)
- Finalize complete permission set
- Complete moderator & administrative functions
- Enable forum search (it's tougher than you think)
- Complete advanced forums setup
- Overhaul forum theme
- New forum template scheme better fitting EdgeGamers' style
- New rank designations
- New favorite game designations
- New Dedicated Supporter / Veteran designations
- Import of award system
- Addition of CMS / Portal system to bring a true "homepage" experience
I greatly appreciate everyone's patience as Tech works very hard to get the mountain of tasks completed. Join me in thanking them for their volunteer efforts that have certainly gone far above and beyond over the course of the last few months.
