Why was eGO called ... eGO ?

[A Canadian Guy]

I know the history of this great, #1 clan, starting out with 7 members in a DOD:S server which later would become one of the worlds top ranking servers. Then the other games came along and more members starting joining in which make up this excellent clan. But I always wondered ? Why was it named Edgegamers™ ? I can understand the ... Organization part, but the other ?

EDIT: THIS THREAD IS NOW A CONTEST!

EDIT EDIT: 9 PAGES AND STILL NO DEFINITE ANSWER! THIS CONTEST IS HEATING UP!

[shadohunter]

maybe because it sounded cool . . lol

[Zadori]

lol thats a good question lets see what they are gonna say!

[blackhawksniper]

Actually, we started out with a single server, the DoDs Ava server. After a couple of months with that, we expanded with a Donner server. Then we kept growing and growing and then TF2 came out, we went into that, started with rotation servers that later became 24/7 2fort and dustbowl and I dont remember the exact order for the rest of the stuff

But Im going to take an educated guess at the name and that is because we are the cutting/leading edge of the gaming world. We are the worlds biggest clan, run the top ranked servers, and have some pretty cool sponsorships.

Any of the founders could probably tell you specifically why we have our name.

p.s. On the dods side, we used to have a saying, "pride is forever" That the eGO's would say, that kinda paralells the clan with a tongue-in-cheek reference from the abbrevion of the clan tags to spell ego

Haha i love this thread. Yes blackhwaksniper is correect about we wanted to be on the cutting edge of the gaming community. At the time everyone was still playing DoD1.3 eGO decided to make the move to source and it went from there. We all love the steam based games. Very nice pic the red it also stats our vision of the communtiy.
