Best Guitarists

No one put Django Reinhardt. The things he plays with 2 fingers are amazing. I want to see Page play like that with 2 finger. When some one told/asked Jimi Hendrix about being the best guitarist he mentioned Django. I would put him first, then Jimi Hendrix. No one is better than Jimi in rock, see him play with his teeth?

With painful rehabilitation and practice Django relearned his craft in a completely new way, even as his third and fourth fingers remained partially paralyzed. Hence, he played all of his guitar solos with only two fingers, and managed to use the two injured digits only for chord work.

Django isn't the best, I mean hell he's amazing on the same scale that others are, but you can't really give him a handycap.. but yes, hes amazing, finger pickin all the way.

Richard Johnson was Jimi Hendrix inspiration, there is no known photo's except for one. He was a 1920-1930's blues guitarist.. inspired eric clapton, jimi, and many mannyyy more.

Billy Corgan!!!!! because he writes great music! :D

I also agree about Prince, that man can jam

Umm. Are you serious. Not one person has even mentioned Paul Gilbert or Nuno Bettencort.

That is all I'm going to say.

All I'm going to say is that they are not the most skilled. They write amazing music, nobody can deny that... But they can't be behind names like Rhandy Rhoads and Jimi Hendrix.

Find me an epic solo by him that can beat out any of who i posted.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnqpOFcBiMM[/ame] , This entire song really. Sadly it was violated by Guitar Hero but it's still great.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZJqt9zaT0w[/ame] , solo starts at about 2:10. Another great one at 4:00ish

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRFaf4k6cZg[/ame] , Solo gets rolling at about 2:00.

Eric Johnson may not be as XTREME as some other guitarists, but in a skill competition he'd blow them all away.

Bernie Leadon

I know he didn't do anything spectacular on guitar, but he was the backbone of The Eagles, my favorite band.

And I'm a devout bassist, so I don't put much thought into the matters of guitarists ;)

Have you even seen Paul Gilbert live?

Blows you away.

Now if you want real skill, Jason Becker.

You cannot deny that was one of the most talented guitarists that ever lived....well still lives.

I don't like to bash musicians, but seriously, this guy was number 5 on my list

Yeah, I don't know if I would say Eric Johnson is in the top couple of spots, but he kicks butt.

I can't believe no one mentioned Randy Rhodes or Angus Young... Some of the best riffs ever.

Jason becker IS beast. Sorry though..

Rhodes is my number 3, but when it comes to metal, he's number 1 for me, i dont know why, i just love his stuff. angus is one hell of a songwriter, i need to add him.
