Reminder to 'e' members giving warnings/reminders when in-game.

Just wanted to drop a reminder on something I've noticed.

Occasionally, something happens that an 'e' member considers warnable or maybe it's on a team with no eG's or eGO's. Usually bad language - cuss, swear, whatever.

So, sometimes - not all the time - I hear or see this:

"Language."

or

"Watch your language."

...via voice or text, of course. Personally, I'm all in favor of 'e' members reminding/asking people to abide by eGO rules. (I've asked a question about this in Admin Trainers for those eG and above.)

But, if you are going to ask/remind/warn, please remember to do so consistent with how eGO wants to present itself: maturely and professionally.

1. Identify the person, by name. (They might not realize it's meant for them!)
2. Use a complete sentence. (The whole subject-verb thing.)
3. Say "Please." (Better to ask nicely!)

e.g.

"Scrappy, please watch your language."
"Please do not swear, Scrappy."

*Insert standard disclaimer: I am not an eGO nor member of leadership. These are just my three cents.

Is this something you would like us to do, or just inform an eG or eGo about. I don't want to overstep my bounds, as I am fairly new to eGo.

Thanks for the Advise because I have been on servers and have seen where there are no admins and left the our servers. But in the same note I thank those that have admin power for doing the job they do, because 9 times out of 10 my daughters are in the room and I don't need them learning word that a 1 or a 3 year old need to be repeating.

I love the fact that our Admins do this. It creates an environment that isn't annoyingly riddled by foul language and childishness. Its one of the main reasons that I took the advise of a recruiter and joined up.

We'd recommend that if someone breaks a rule, just let us eG or eGO handle it. If you notice something we haven't just use @ <text> without the brackets in Team Chat (U by default).

You won't see the text, but we will.

But if there are not any eG's or eGO's on the server refer to the 1st post

And to re-iterate, your 2 bestfriends when you are the lone e on a server are status and condump.

Status will give you a list of everyone on the server at the time you do it and condump will dump your console to a text file in your TF directory.

Any questions on anything can of course be asked of any eG or eGO

The usual routine is for any =(e)= member finding that other members or pubs are causing a problem is to contact an =(eGO)= administrator. If you do warn people please use "please and thanks" It is the way we do it, also if you do warn contact someone in the administration to try and have it resolved. Its the best way and I believe its the way =(eGO)= Guys mean you to do it.

I have friend slots still open, so if you need to add some admins as friends, feel free to hit me up...

If you are an (e) than we prefer not that you try and admin, but if there is no admin you can always try something is better than nothing,

but if there is an admin, say it in adminchat ( teamspeak + @ ) contact a eG or eGO on steam or just let us worrie about it and just have fun and play the game.

To warn a player it is important to do it in allspeak so everyone can see it, and they know we do not accept this kind of behaviour. to warn use personal name, what they did, and usually I add "on our servers, thank you"

simple as that

I did not know that! How exactly does that work? Using team chat you type your message as normal with an "@" before it? or "@sgt Mcawesome" at the end? Just curious.

Well really most of the time when i go on most of the time there is an eG or eGO on the BM server where i play, and they always catch swearing, ratial abuse etc. Good job guys :D

Paperbag,

Yes. You open up team chat (U) and put an @ before your message. This will send a message to admins on the server.

Example (team chat (U button) is open): @thE_n00b just cursed on voice, can someone please warn him? Thanks.

Awesome. I had no idea that was available. I let the admins take care of that stuff, and you guys don't seem to miss much. Still nice to know its there. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this, Scrappy. This is a big one for e's. I've seen one too many e's and sometimes even eG's & eGO's do this.

That's a very cool feature! I've been playing for a relatively long time and did not know about that. Thanks for the info.
