Yeah it sucked quite a bit, in my humble opinion. Talk about fighting to find a decent plotline. Special effects were the same as the first film - so many ridiculous and pointless little parts to the robots and motion blur out the wazoo make it difficult to tell what's going on.

Then again, I wasn't a fan of the first Transformers, for very similar reasons. Just because you stick a girl in it and take a bunch of camera shots up her shorts doesn't mean it's a good film.

I think in essence, the Transformers series can be summed up as the following - for me: The type of movie where if you want to turn your brain completely off and just watch "stuff" happen, while staring at a pasty, overhyped girl with no business as an actress - under the guise that anything with robots is cool, then...you can maybe pull out of it with a "meh".

No offense meant to people, just figured I'd post my view of the topic.

Well thats a movie people need sometimes. Just to turn off there brain and watch cool stuff happen. Not always some complex and deep plotline. Although that is good.

I thought it was better than the first one. I grew up with Transformers being my favorite toys and series since G1. I just wish the movies would lighten up on the GM commercials. I don't hate GM at all I drive a Camaro Z28 (unfortunately it does not turn into a giant robot >< ) I think this movie was geared more to the fans as one critic said, and not the general audience. Sure its a little scrambled with some of the characters but characters have also changed series to series in some cases. Anyhow I liked it and I would watch it again.

I know what you mean - but here's the thing. Watching a movie that makes sense, with an intelligent story, good acting, and special effects that serve purpose - takes LESS effort to watch. When I say "turn your brain off" I don't mean "relax and enjoy the show" - I mean you would literally have to turn your brain off, because if you don't, the amount of effort it would take for me to not rip my skull out can only be described as astronomical.

Kinda like Twilight. The guy's had 100 years to come up with a good excuse as to why his eyes inexplicably change from dark brown to gold and the best he can manage is: "Urhrr...hmMMGHh...rrrghh....ohkay...uRRr...hhghk....uh....hmgrh....rhEEaRgHhh...
urg...hhGRHmm...- FLUORESCENTS!"

...I'm pretty sure I had a brain hemorrhage while watching that one.

What Two Listen said about Transfomers 2 is just what I felt when I watched Transformers 1. It was just "ok". It was like I forgot about it right after I was done watching it. My local newspaper gave Transformers 2 five out of six, so i'm probably going to watch it this weekend. I'm not expecting much though.
