I am not knocking the pen tool by any means, I use it for all my logo and print work in Illustrator, and whenever I do non-scalable things in Photoshop. But to that, just saying I would have done that design just with the paintbrush tool without the path. I guess it depends what setup you have...

Unless the forums do not allow .PNG or any other alpha based format, that is untrue. If you compose an image and leave the background empty, you can save it as a .png, .tga, .gif, .psd(.tga is what you will want to use for the spray) and when you save it just make sure you have "save...
