my new (budget) build, tell me what you think

It's ok if you can still find one, but make sure to get the 8800GTS 512MB (G92) and not the 320MB or 640MB versions as these are worse then the 9800GT and not worth the price. If I were you I'd try and get a 9800GT instead as it'll be less of a headache to hunt down.

The 9600GT is a slightly lesser 8800GT, I'd go for a 9800GT or a 9800GTX+ if your on a budget the 4850 is very good also. You'll see around a 30FPS boost from the 9600GT to the 9800 and a 45-50 with the 9800GTX+/4850 depending on your CPU.

The 4850 is about 4 times better then the 9600GT and Crysis will run ok just not on max everything, if you get a Nvidia card go for the 9800GTX+ or a GTS 250 as they are pretty much on the same level as the 4850. 9600 is a pretty weak card for 1680x1050.

You could have bad/dying memory which can cause these kinds of things download http://www.memtest.org/#downiso burn the ISO to a blank CD-R put the CD in reboot you may have to hit F8 in your BIOS and run memtest overnight and let me know if you get any errors. If it isn't memory this may sound...

That build looks nice I'd also go for a better PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005&Tpk and the 4850 is great for running games maxed as long as you don't play Crysis or GTA IV you'll get around 40-150FPS in most games at 1680x1050
