I've actually done all that. On top of that, I recently reformatted my hdd and issues seem to persist. I'm starting to think that Steam and Source have become a bit unstable. Other people I've spoken to have had these issues as well, yet some never have any issues at all.

Lately, my Steam has been crashing as well as various Source games. I just don't understand why and Steam support would rather make me go through an essay of irrelevant steps than help me. Perhaps someone here could be of more assistance. Let me know what ever information I can provide.

I'm new around these parts. I have a question. Do I have to join a specific division? I like playing lots of different games rather than just one all the time.
