also, try tweaking your settings, your res and settings have alot to do with it. For me, on my core2duo machine, i have to turn settings UP to get better preformance, i know it sounds crazy. I also saw someone post the "_ultimate_dods_cfg.rar" You can find it here. Maybe it will help...

I've also seen nvidia chipsets(onboard nic cards) with the nvidia firewall causing BSOD's, driving me crazy on my last desktop.
