Cant you cycle it into/out of hard core mode? I think ego could pull off a "multi purpose" server, of course, an admin must be able to setup rules via procon (I donno what u use) for something cool like a "pistols only hard core" match. It seems, IMO, kinda tough to justify having it the 3rd...
