GTA VI: An Extended Look
We're getting closer and closer to GTA VI's release date, and for some, November 19th can't come fast enough. Fans have been waiting for the next installment in the legendary series for 13 years. Over the past handful of weeks, Rockstar Games has been radio silent amid various game leaks and sour media attention.
On August 27th, Rockstar released its "
GTA VI: An Extended Look" exclusively on Netflix, racking up over 30 million views on the platform alone. The traffic was so massive it crashed the Netflix website multiple times during the premiere. Safe to say, the hype hasn't died down. Players are more excited than ever, with 4.86 million preorder copies sold since launch.
In the exclusive 26-minute extended gameplay look, several standout features emerged: an interaction and status menu similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, the removal of auto-aim (unlike GTA V), a six-star police wanted level, and "smart policing," where players will need to switch clothes and vehicles to escape custody since police now remember faces and grow suspicious of a player over time. There are also tons of open-world activities scattered across the map, unique environmental interactions, and, one of the most anticipated additions, races that look like they belong in Forza Motorsport.
Despite the massive hype around the title’s release, it certainly has not come without controversy and criticism. With many players disappointed in GTA Online’s approach to micro transactions noted by many. Others are concerned about GTA VI’s release on 30 fps on current generation consoles, looking to partner with Sony & Microsoft to push sales on new generation consoles.
All and all,13 years of waiting and the game just around the corner, the internet can't and wont get over the hype that this game brings. With preorders through the roof and GTA VI approaching fast, we cannot wait for November 19th.

“Rockstar is good about elevating games to be better than the last. Based on what I've seen, I think it'll be a more fluid and much better story than 5.”
“Rockstar are also scummy and predatory in cased with micro transactions, and I don't believe things will change when Online releases.”

"Having been such a GTA and general R* nerd for a long time across multiple games. I have learned that they don't really miss. While I have an air of caution, as this really is going to be a game of which we have not seen the likes of before; the last open world revolution we have seen was Cyberpunk and despite a impressive comeback its launch was a disaster."
"I do think there will be issues, I worry for what may come SixM/ROME or whatever it may be that follows FiveM, I think it will price out smaller creators, like us at EdgeGamers, favouring NoPixel and co - as we have already seen with FiveM. I am hopeful this isn't the case, as mentioned by Oblixion, I would like EdgeGamers to be able to continue within the GTA Roleplay community."
