Is there a difference?

I prefer Full screen, windowed can bug and click out if you're not careful. You also can't have a bad processor or video card either.

I personally window my source games (DoD & CS) because at one point they would go not responding quite often. So I could just task manager out of them, where as if they were full screen I'd end up manually rebooting my laptop.

Plus this way I can do other things (AIM/FireFox) while I'm gaming. Like if I have ten seconds or so to waste between rounds.

Just my two cents.

Performance wise between running CS:S in a window and full screen?

Yes. You can get higher fps playing in a windowed mode. He didn't ask your opinion guys... You can use net_graph 3 and try both your yourself!

Whether or not playing in a window improves performance is almost entirely dependant on what resolution you're playing at. If the game is set to your desktop resolution, playin in a window will result in playing in a window the same size as your desktop - which is to say, fullscreen. And you will notice little to no performance difference.

If the resolution you're playing at is significantly lower than your desktop resolution, than you should notice an FPS increase playing in windowed mode. Should look better, too.

agree with Two listen, i prefer full screen but if u want to multitask with ease go with window mode.

Full-screen is way better if you actually play the game competitively and want to see people in tight corners/windows.

He didn't ask for opinions, he asked for answers. Also, there may be some fps difference as stated earlier, but I don't believe there is much of a difference unless you run more windows at the same time, which will of course increase RAM and power consumption.
