i recently have installed Windows 7 RC x64 bit,
and I have an
AMD Athlon II 240
but i checked it and CPUZ says i have an
AMD Opteron 1300
any help here? i have no idea whats wrong with it.

What does it say you have in the control panel? It could just be a problem with CPUZ does it still say the same specs just the wrong name or is it all wrong?

In the the Computer Properties it says
AMD Engineering Sample
and no, it reads at 1.6GHz when it should be at 2.8GHz. but everything else is correct.

What operating system did you have before you switched to Windows 7 and did it say the right specs when you had it? Also I found these on the Cpuid website on the CPUZ part-

Q1: CPU-Z reports my CPU running below its clock specification or the clock speed is varying.
A: This is the effect of the CPU power reduction mechanism : C1E (Enhanced Halt State) and/or EIST (Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology) for Intel CPUs, Cool'n'Quiet and or PowerNow! for AMD CPUs. Load your system and you will see the frequency increase to its nominal value.

Q2: CPU-Z reports a wrong CPU vcore.
A: Please download HWMonitor then save monitoring data (menu file -> save monitoring data) and send back the file to that address.
Try that and see if it works

i had Windows Vista Home Premium x32 bit before
and i know what AMD C&C 3.0 is.
and the vcore is where it should be.
this same thing happened with Vista, but i just restarted my computer and it worked fine.

ok i fixed it,
all i had to do was look at the BIOS. didnt even change anything.
disappointment :facewall:
