Can't download Steam

[Punch2Face]

Hey, been a while since I've been here, haha I moved out to Utah and didn't have access to a computer. But I tried downloading steam yesterday and it would not get past 43%. I tried downloading it probably 30 some-odd times in both IE8 and FireFox, PLUS I tried having someoen upload it to fileplanet and download it from there, but still would not break that 43%. All my anti-virus stuff is turned off and firewall is down, but it still just won't do it. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could maybe fix this problem?
