At work i am a graphic designer that works on a PowerPC G5 that is having the cooling issues (don't get me started on that). well we are deciding on changing to a PC with windows 7, but have questions about QuarkXpress working with Windows 7. I know we checked the compatibility and only 8.1 works on 7. So does anyone know if any older version works on this version of windows. Currently on the Mac we are using QuarkXpress 6.5 and afraid of text changes and font changes, which i fear and have heard of. Also does anyone know about the XP downgrade from 7 that is available? We are trying to get 64 bit of windows 7 and curious if you need a 64 bit xp OS to do the special downgrade?

I also noticed Creative Suite 3 is only supported on Windows 7 32-bit, has anyone else tried any other version of CS? Also anyone ever tried CS on the 64-bit?

ya im running CS3 32bit on windows 7 64bit

have cs3 master collection and they all work with Windows 7 64bit

32 bit applications still work on 64bit hardware and operating systems they just cant take advantage of the extra memory address space that 64bit has.

Have you tried cS4? I heard PS runs better on 64-bit OS according to WIKI

I have CS4 running on Win 7 64bit and it runs fine. I only ran into 1 problem, when trying to use the vanishing point option it crashed. However it seemed to be an easy fix...just had to switch my win 7 aero theme back to basic and no more crash...weird glitch but not devastating

XP Mode is only available on Windows 7 Professional, by the by.

But realistically, go with a Mac.

XP Mode is included in Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. XP mode is literally a copy of Windows XP that runs as a virtual machine inside of Windows 7.
