This is the second time this has happened and now it just screwed up my ipod touch.:cursing: I'm running a Windows XP Professional, and certain programs aren't working right now. When I was installing an update for my ipod, the comp had "issues" and screwed up the darn thing. I cannot run System Restore, it says "System restore cannot protect your computer. Please restart and run system restore". I have done that and no luck. I also attempted to run System R on safe mode, same result. Also rebooted and loaded Windows on my recent best configuration, same result. I have a bought version of Kaspersky Internet Security and scanned my entire computer twice after recent updates, was clean.:facewall:

I have no idea what to do, if safe mode can't help me what is there possibly to do besides a complete memory wipe? Much thanks in advance!

The only bit of advice that I can give is that Kaspersky isnt the best software to take care of your system. Theyre a cheap product, & therefore, they dont come out w/ the best performance. If you go here http://www.computerpoweruser.com/idealbb/forum.asp?forumID=5&sessionID=BF31E3A3FCB1490CAEDEAD6A1341FDF2, they will have the best info on internet security software available. I always enjoy getting their magazines cause it keeps me up-2-date w/ the latest in technology, hardware & software wise. Now if you're willing to pay some $$ for a year subscription, I highly suggest Trend Micro. My friend from church is a System Admin for some Medical place & he swears by it all the time. Theres also Panda http://www.pandasecurity.com, so that should help ya out a lil. But im sure some of our internal OS guys can help ya find a fix. I do apologize that I cant be of more help.

Can not "protect" your computer? If that's actually what it's saying then it sounds like you have some nasty virus or malware. I'd suggest downloading and running MalwareBytes.

www.malwarebytes.org

That's my current favorite. If you suspect that it's some sort of virus or malware and that doesn't take care of it, there is another program that you can try, but I'd rather be in touch with you via some method before suggesting it to you. It's really powerful and almost always resolves any malware issues I run in to.
