in DOD when certain people key their ingame mics it causes me feedback and blots out their voices almost compeltely and blots out all in game sound till they unkey their mics. I notice it on kalt when Biohazard keys his mic and a pubber named codemax, and it has happened with others as well although very rarely. Is it a problem on their end or on mine? If mine, how can I fix it?

It may be on your end. What audio accelerator (sound card) are you using?

I would also suggest updating DirectX and your audio drivers. You may also want to disable any software mixers that are being used.

Please post your sound card and audio setup. This will greatly help those that are trying to assist you!

Feedback is the broadcast of "infinite sound" example being a microphone placed next to a speaker and turning the gain all the way up to max. It could be on either end depending on who's mic is next to a output device. If its your turn down your sensitivity (or gain). If its on there end then maybe your not the only one hearing it. This is one of those sound theory questions because feedback cant just appear out of anywhere. Please contact me again if problem persists.

I have a sounblaster audigy 2 card and use headphones (seinheiser PC40) with a boom mic. I do not have speakers connected and I only have the mixer software that came with soundblaster. My drivers and direct X were installed less than six months ago, i will check for updates.

Ok it sounds like it could be on their side. It could also be a bad connection on your end. I have run into problems where after playing for a while my mic and headset becomes high pitched and indiscernible. It too uses Creative drivers and is up to date.
