The usb cord got riped out of the circuit board of my joystick(MS Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback)
If any of you know how this would solder back together, it would be much appreciated, the was no colored insulation left on the board.

sorry if the pictures are too big

I don't know which order that go back into the board but If you have a DMM then you could probably figure it out. I don't know how much you know about electronics, but if you could trace the circuit back to the onboard ICs, then look up the data sheet of the IC and figure out which pins do what in the IC.

The USB pinout is:
Red - 5V
Green - Signal +
White - Signal -
Black - Ground

The ground wire will be connected to the ground plane on the circuit board, so that one shouldn't be too hard to find.

The 5V will most likely power the IC and any LEDs on the device, so that one also shouldn't be to terrible complex.

The green and white will most likely be the hardest.

Hopefully this helped a little....

the pcb's number: x01-02726-01

Yes, that is the USB pinout. I can't really be much more help without having it. Sorry.

Since, there's no metal left on the board for me to solder to(just the copper), im gonna take it down to the computer place in town and see if they can do anything.
thanks for the help

Might be easier in the long run to just get a new one, maybe cheaper then the computer place. they might want some cash if they say they can "do" something with it.

What i was intending to have them do was to just do the soldering, I'm not the best and the copper plates on the PCB are small and close together. I'll see if my dad can solder it. We got if for $100 on sale, normally $250 at the time.

here's the wires now, and a piece of tape for size :)
