So here is my problem, Hard freeze on games that i currently attempt to play that require above average hardware (etc.. Modern Warfare, MW2, TF2, Crisis series, Battlefield 2142, Command and Conquer series, and etc....). Every crash requires a hard boot. Games such as World of Warcraaft, CS:S, DOD:S, CS 1.6, and etc... dont crash which sort of baffles me since i run full vis specs possible. i have installed liquid cooling and multiple case fans (even slot fans). I even have replaced the sides on my case to have maximum ventilation, then i placed small external fans pointing away to pull out hot air. Needless to say it is quite loud once the whole contraption is running. I dont think it is my PSU because my system is almost 2 years old and runs everything i have attempted. I then thought it might be my GPU, that it may be faulty and needs replacement or that since i game so much i have literally blown my GPU, but which is not likely. I would appreciate any advice or reccomendations. Thank you.

P.S. i will provide specs for you as soon as i get off work

Do you have speed fan or anything to monitor in case and vid card temps. I have GPU-Z logging my GPU temps at all time. If you want I can link you to a DL point of both of them. Remember it may not always be temp that is causing it!

I tried but yea this is all I can say and or do about your problems since it has not happened to myself.

I think this is beyond over heating, sounds like a ram issue, maybe even a powersupply thats going bad.

I'm almost positive your system isn't getting enough power, need specs of your system.

Exactly what happens when the games crash? Do the visuals get strange? Sound loops? BSOD? Often system lockups indicate hardware failure.

I would check the PSU as your main culprit what type of water cooling system do you have and your PSU type and wattage please.

Do the easiest thing first: Check system temps. Most BIOS utilities will have a temp page.

You could also download hwinfo32 and check your system temps from there. I had the EXACT issue you were having and had to blow out the fan on my CPU which was clogged with dirt and re-apply thermal paste in between the cpu and heatsink. hwinfo32 was telling me my cpu weas getting up to 137 degrees Fahrenheit. now it runs at 103 after a good cleaning and reapply of thermal paste.

Good luck.

My first guess would be psu also.. but temps can also cause these things.
