Hey guys I need advice from one of you technically savvy dudes! I have a good idea of what I need to get but I wanted to see if you guys could come up with anything really good for the price range.

Here is my current setup:

CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ OCe'd to 2.5gHZ w/ Tuniq Tower 120mm CPU Fan
RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (4 x 1GB) DDR2 Dual-Channel
Videocard: ATI Radeon X1200 Series onboard chipset due to the fact that my 8800gt fried.
Soundcard: Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1
Headset: Audiotechnica AD-700
Mouse: Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse
Keyboard: Saitek Eclipse 2
Monitor: LG L194WT
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA69G-S3H AM2 AMD 690G Motherboard
PSU: Thermaltake Purepower 500W

I'm thinking I should get a new videocard and a new power supply. The other parts are fairly good and maybe next step would be the processor/mobo, but since my game is Counter-Strike: Source I think all is well for now besides the no videocard and powersupply issue. My budget is 300 -320 dollars. Here is what I have picked out. If you can find something better please show me. I want to get the best parts for the price.

Videocard:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447
Powersupply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015

good video card, that is fine for your budget

the PSU, i would take a look at this

its the same price after rebate/shipping but this one has a single +12v rail instead of multiple ones, it is debatable if it's better or not but this is just another option i would take a look at, also it looks a lot nicer and is meant for gaming....though the Fatal1ty series can be a gimmick sometimes

Antec makes nice PSU's tho, i just like this OCZ one better but either will be fine

I'm pretty sure when the GPU needs it, it can get it from the other rails no problem. Plus I want to save a few extra bucks so I can get these to go with my Auzentech XiFi Prelude 7.1.

okay, as i said, either PSU is fine

Also you might wanna look at this 5770

Its the vapor-x from sapphire which improves performance and cooling.........the warranty definitely isn't better than XFX but considering its vapor-x, the cooling should be better than XFX

The best option would be the XFX 5770 XXX edition because of the ability to get a higher overclock but its also a quite bit more expensive

I read a review site that got 960mhz core and 1400mhz memory with the vapor-x so thats pretty reassuring info.......XFX have also been known to get high overclocks tho but i havn't seen the stock XFX get as high as an overclock as the vapor-x

in the end i recommend the vapor-x over the XFX but if warranty is ur main concern, stick with XFX....the vapor-x is also currently $5 cheaper

keep in mind your cpu will bottleneck almost any graphics card you can buy. my 4200+ bottlenecked my 8600GT an EXTREME amount, even for CSS. i went from 1024x762 or whatever it is, everything on low with 50-70 fps to everything on high at 1680x1050 with 150-250 fps when i swapped out my 4200+ for a cheap phenom ii x2 550 and am2+ mobo

for 300 bucks i suggest you get an athlon II x2 250 (its like 65 bucks) with a cheap am2+ or am3 motherboard, and another graphics card like you had, a 9800 or gts 250. that will ensure no bottlenecks and will work wonders with CSS, as well as a huge benefit with other games

EDIT: just noticed the mobo you have, save yourself some bucks and keep that mobo, but definitely get a new CPU as well so you are not bottlenecked by it
