I am wondering how many times 1 copy of Windows 7 Pro can be installed using the SAME product key. I heard it was 3 but I just want to be sure.

Anyone know 100%?

One per license, unless you paid out the wazzoo for a volume license

To clarify, I meant you can only have it one computer. Windows registers your system setup to the key, if you change your cpu or whatever you have to re-identify yourself. Basically only ONE computer can have the key at any given time, if you have it on more than one active computer it will probably get voided and you will no longer get updates/etc (unless it's a volume license)

You can install it an infinite number of times, but it can only be used on one computer at a time.

The family license is the one that can be used on up to 3 machines simultaneously. If you have that, than you are correct.

ya i just got my windows 7 order confirmed, trying to download it while i wait for the disk to be shipped to my girlfriends family in new jersey and they'll bring it up next time they visit.
however i don't think i can install windows 7 64 bit from windows xp 32 bit just from the download - we'll see in bout 20 mins
