I had just modified my xbox controller into a usb and wanted to try it out with counter strike.I downloaded the drivers but cant seem to get it to work.is there a program or some configuration that needs to be done before i can use it?thanks in advanced!

You can do it with original xbox controllers with an adapter. There are some free programs/drivers that will work. I use my PS3 controller for some games like Need For Speed and it works great. xbox controller would use basically the same stuff.

its the original xbox controller.I do also have an adapter for the ps2 and ps3 controller.I tried my ps2 controller but when i used the right analog stick for look it just wants to look down and spin even after careful configuration.it does read the controller in setup but its Microsoft xbox 360 accessories.

Ok, so the best thing to start out with doing is installing this driver http://redcl0ud.1.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=1535

This should allow it to work properly in windows.

For counterstrike you may need to use a program like Joy2Key to change the joypad inputs into keypress/mouse input. Just google search Joy2Key and there should be a site with the download.

thanks for the help guy.i found that pinnacle game profiler as strongbad suggested works great and even found all my games for me and created the profile in it.thanks for the help everyone

Then just a quick question, why would you want to use a controller for Counter Strike? xD
It always sucks for me to play a shooter on the console.

Yea as Craften said, gamepad in CS is... bad... :P I know from experience. You don't have the speed and precision you do with a mouse.

Indeed, I once rented CS for the xbox, I returned it even though I had 6 days left :P
Even the bots got the better of me D:

haha yeah i get what you guys are sayin now.I figured i would test it to see how much better it was since i had it for the regular xbox but the xbox controller and the ps2 controller for cs:s......bad idea haha.thanks for the help though.now i at least know it works and i can get started on using it for my emulators!
