Error when connecting in Ventrilo

I got a "replacement" computer to use until I get my regular computer up and running again..And I got the lastest version of Ventrilo...It worked fine the first time I connected,,But since then I get the following error:



I am assuming that it is saying it can't find a mouse and or keyboard on my computer?? If so what can I do to resolve this issue?

I have tried to re-installing ventrilo several times..with the same error each time.

My comp specs if needed:

Celeron Dule Core 2.66
1 gig of memory
7100 Gs Nvidia Video card.
Windows Xp SP 3

Yes..dirvers are up to date. Like I said..it worked fine the first time I tried to connect..after that is when I had this issuse come up,,,and everytime since then unless something is messing up windows driver base?
 
hmm the only other thing I can think of is temporarily disabling all security apps you have, firewall, anti-virus etc.... hope that helps
 
It's saying it can't communicate with your push-to-talk device..

Try changing it before connecting... It being your push to talk key
 
usually this sort of problem is caused by some sort of firewall or AV fooled into thinking that when you bind ventrilo to a key it is a keylogging attempt.

try reinstalling ventrilo with ALL AV and firewall turned off, including anti-spam and spyware programs.

I know two ways to fix this error. One is the one mentioned above. The other is a clean OS reinstall and that hopefully wont be needed.

Yea that is what I figured..You see this computer I am using now was not setup by me. I am 100% sure that the anti virus program is interfering not only with ventrilo but just about everything else on this computer. Like I have had to reinstall flash player 10 several times cause every time I get on the computer and get on the net..it says its not installed, even though I installed in just awhile back. So I am going to have to just re-format this computer and hopefully that will take care of this. But however I will be waiting to get a better video card for this computer first before I re-format.
 
Just popping in to say that I have gotten a new video card..Geforce 9500 GT 1 gig memory. Currently re-installing everything and updateing as needed..Crossing my fingers that this will take care of everything and I can get back to gaming!!
