I recently purchased a 10 foot HDMI cable: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000UHQVOW/ref=ox_ya_oh_product[/ame]
so I could connect my TV to my computer via my ASUS 9600 GSO:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814121314
As I understand, an hdmi cable can transmit both audio and video, and the nvidia control panel let me select the connection to be audio enabled. I had WMP select the HDMI as the audio device. while playing something, my computer's volume mixer showed that there was audio being transmitted to the TV, however, nothing would come out of the TVs speakers. Is there any setting Im not switching here? Furthermore I have Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit if that helps. I read a similar thread that was posted here but it didnt answer my question.

Currently only ati cards can output audio through HDMI.

I think you can do it if you have a spidf cable

go to mixer and turn all the volume down except your tv and if your still hearing sound out of your computer you might have to get a pair of speakers :/ it sucks tho i had the same problem with my recent build i thought i did something wrong and tore it all down and now i have yet to have time to put it back together lol
