Hey. I've noticed lately that when listening to music on my PC, I'm no longer hearing all channels. I noticed this when listening to a Moody Blues album, who are known for using different speakers etc. and I noticed I couldn't hear parts of the sung and some instruments were missing. I noticed this on other songs too, and games set to EAX or 3D Audio were having the same problem. At first I thought it might be my headphones or the audio cable connecting them (I have a wireless headset, but I use the wire for better quality) but I tested them with my MP3 player, same songs, same wire, same headphones and they sounded just right, the same with on my PS3. I also plugged my audio cable into the speaker on my monitor and also had my PS3 hooked in with HDMI Audio, playing the song through the speakers on my PC I was still missing those parts but the PS3 played them through the speakers fine.
What could be the problem? It has only happened since about two days ago, it was fine last week. I dusted my computer and my audio card looked fine, and I tried both the line out jacks in back as well as the headphone jack in the front of the computer, and they both had the issue. It's an old card, but if there's anyway I can fix it I'd appreciate it because I don't want to have to waste batteries by using my MP3 player and I can't listen to music off the PS3 and have my monitor tuned to the DVI-D plugin.
Specs:
Pentium 4 HT 3.2 ghz (Or so it claims, but I think its less >__>)
3 gb Ram
512 MB AGP Radeon x1650 (Up to date on version 9.11, the last version to support this model)
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 value
