Sound Card Suggestions?

So my on-board audio drivers have never worked right with Windows 7 not even the XP ones with compatibility mode turned on. Anyone know a good sound card that works well with Windows 7?

There are lots of sound card that work well on Windows 7. If you game a lot, which I assume you do, you will probably want to look at cards with an X-Fi chip in them. These support .EAX sound extensions among other things.

I can help you out further with a few simple questions...

• What is your budget?
• What kind of headset/speakers are you using?
• What open ports do you have on your motherboard? (PCI, PCIe x1)

P.S. The Creative Xtreme Audio does not have a "real" X-Fi chip in it.

Multiple PCI slots available plus i have a 5.1 Logitech Z-5300e system. I would not like to pay anything over 100 dollars

I agree, as that is the sound card I am currently using. I have had no issues with it and it sounds great. But make sure you have a PCIe x1 slot for it.

If you only have a PCI slot the Xtreme Gamer might be better for you.
