hl2. exe fails

This keeps coming up when i play dod:s. I then I have to restart the game because it closes. Any help?

Can you please give the exact error message - tell us weather it is a steam or windows message, tell us how often it occures and when (example,... it occures half the time right when the game connects to a server), and also what version of windows you are using.
