A somehow amazing tactic for countering an uber.

Taunt Kills as sniper or medic.


I was on blackmesa (sorry, no pic.)

and a heavy medic combo just popped an uber on L. I jumped down from the vent above and just taunt killed the heavy when he didn't see me.
I stunned him, and wasted a few seconds of uber.

Also I found out when the taunts over, you have a second to do it again before he starts up the gun again, and its going to be hard to run away from it.

This works if its only a heavy medic combo, and you have to stun them, if the medic stops ubering and trys to kill you you might taunt kill the heavy.

win kinda win situation.

It really works, though!

But an observant Heavy would kill you before you got the chance.

It works... and if you catch them at the end of the uber, the pull-out will kill them.

The best way to counter an uber is to kill the medic before he pops it. Or you an try and juggle one of them (medic or the ubered class)

It's not running away, it's a tactical advance in the opposite direction!

I've got nothing to say but using any type of admin command is considered hax.

Being drugged as an Engy is one way to see if someone is drunk, I guess.

If they can still play correctly while Drugged 90% chance they're drunk and/or skilled.

i usually try and push them back or push the medic so far away he loses his uber and the team can kill the now unubered guy while i push the medic far away

I don't think this is a glitch. It may be removed at some time in the future, but AFAIK this has worked since these taunts were added to the game.

There's a guy named Smoke who does this quite often on the servers I play on. He'll run far enough away for the heavy to not want to waste time on him, then he'll come back from behind and stun the heavy. By the time this wears off, the uber is usually down and our team cleans up. It takes a bit of bravado and luck (and stupidity on the part of the heavy) at the same time, but it's not uncommon at all.
