I'm having a problem with CS:S

[Faithless]

All it is is that every time I go into css my video setting are changed and I have to set everything again :cursing:. When i first started css my video card was a 9.0v it said right where the video settings were and I know it is but when i was changing everything it said it was a 6.0v. So that really my problem if anyone can help that would be good I don't really know a lot about Tech stuff :confused1:

Sounds like directx needs updating

Try typing this in console: mat_savechanges. Also check your command line (CSS properties). Somethings (like switching the DX level) will restart your settings when you start CS:S.

You might want to update through here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForCategory.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=2

Update Direct X. If you still have problems I recommend Reinstalling CS:S, it sounds like you or someone on your PC has messed with INI files, I used to do that alot on my PC to get better FPS. but yeah, Just try updateing then Reinstalling.

[fathom]

go in set launch options and type -dxlevel 95

make sure you dont have the PROBLEMS saved on your cfg. Probably you saved the setting in there. You can always start over and delete that file to start of fresh.

You can verify the integrity of your game data (Open up games list in steam, right click on CS:S, Properties, click on Local Tab, then verify.
