I have no idea why, but I had the most random urge to buy an ATi Radeon 3850, so I did. I will review/post pics once I get it.

Yes I know it is worse than the 4890, I just want to see what it is like.

It's okay. I had a 3870 and this 4650 is a little faster.

I have a 3850 right now and am probably about to make a thread about which new card to get. It can run most games on high with 2X AA at 1280x1024 monitor with a Phenom II X3 720 @ 3.3Ghz CPU.

Unless you plan on upgrading your monitor. Then, probably 5830+, with 5850 being preferred.

You can find a used GTX 260 for as cheap as 100-120 on ebay, or a new one on sale for 160. A lil but further up there, you could do a 5850 for around 320 or the GTX 470 for 350 . Souding like your an ATI guy , but all the options help. Maybe even the 5830 for 250 . My only thing with the 5770 is has the same SP's as the 4870. I like ATI's lineup, well done. Using an 8800 GTS in my work machine right now that was picked up for $60 , sweet easy deal. love em.

Sounds good to me, was just gonna put it somewhere as a back-up lol. I have a integrate video card for backup already though.
