Century Link ISP problems

I have CenturyLink as my ISP. They are HORRENDOUS...but they are the only ISP i get in my area. I have had six technicians come by and they keep saying the "fixed the problem". My ping used to be 36, but now it's up to 300-600. A few of the servers i have played since CS:S came out have ping limits but i am not allowed to play them as i keep getting kicked off the server for ping limit problems.

I don't even Reg in the eGO servers anymore. this is terrible. Speed tests say my connection is fine:



But the damn connection still has problems, (ran the speed test while in a game in CS:S with a 300 ping).

Any suggestions? I can't get a new ISP as there are none.

If you pay for a service, you need to get that service. No second questions asked.

Do you have a router of some sort?
If so, have you made sure the ports used to play games are available and accepting incoming connections?

I made sure all of the correct ports were open and even have a few forwarded from when i used to host a Halo PC server. The router is a Linksys, we never had problems with it so i am sure it is not the router. We have emailed and called our ISP over and over again and still nothing has been done, if we had another ISP even remotely close to the area we would pay them to wire up a connection to my road, this is ridiculous.
