Ok so a few months ago I got a Logitech g110 and I want to be able you use so of the G keys for console commands and what not. However, I am not sure how to go about using them properly or binding them to do this in CS:S. Im kinda new to the whole thing. If anyone could assist me I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys

As of right now, I don't believe CS:S supports the multiple function deal.
But, I am not sure. So let's take a different approach.

Did you install the software that came with it?

The software shipped with the keyboard allows you to create macros and bind them to the 'G'-keys. Also the software has a built-in macro recorder, this way you can easily create a macro. Most likely you'll have to tweak the recorded macro (e.g. pause/wait times).

That way I've created a very simple macro to open admin chat (all the macro does is typing "u @ ").

The keyboard's/software's documentation should help you get started, actually it's quite easy and intuitive (at least to some extent).

If you've got specific questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Well, we got that far.

We got the macros to work.
But we're stuck at this.

For instance, he binds G2 to say "say @ lol noob", he'll hit the key. It'll open the chat box once, then he'll have to hit it again.

But if he strikes the key while console is open, it works without him having to strike the key twice.
So..I guess he has to go through console?

To get around the problem you have to map the G-keys to like home, end, page up, page down and then bind home "say @lol noob"

This is of course assuming that you do not currently utilize those keys.

That depends on what the macro does :)

In the example I gave, the macro types "u @ " (without the quotes). 'u' is my ingame keybind to open teamchat.
Since my macro uses the game's keybind, I don't have to have the console opened.
Reading what you have written, his macro types "say @ lol noob". Since 'say' is a console command, he'll have to have the console open.

Try a macro that types "y @ lol noob [ENTER]", if y is your/his bind for 'say'

Anotherthing to keep in mind is the delays between keystrokes. The keyboards software can 'press' buttons reeeeeeeally fast. In fact, too fast for CS:S to notice.
My macro has a delay between every single action (NOTE: 'Key down' and 'Key up' are two different commands. depending on the machine's performance/lag you'll have to tweak those delays a bit. (0.1 sec works for me 99% of the time)

However, if you want to 'call' commands that normally have to be typed in console, the macro has to do it too. Hence you'll have to open up the console in the macro first (read: hit the key you've bound to open up the console), and close console afterwards.

the same thing occured when I tried to map it using macro keys. For exmaple i would have the macro set up so the "g1" key was "y @ lol noob [enter]" and it would bring up the chat box and then I would have to strike it again so that it would input the actual text. I may have to mess with the time between key strokes as you said, but im not sure if it will help much. I will also have to mess with the console commands at some time to see how well those work, because all i experimented with was normal text messages
