My dad was streaming Steve Job's blog conference about the new iPhone and the iOS 4. Anyhow, it got to the new multitasking the 3GS and 4G will be able to do, but the only reason it hasn't been out before was because of battery usage. My question is, how long does the battery last on Android devices or other Smartphones that do have multitasking? I understand that it differs on how many processes you run, but is it a real killer?

I get about 1 day with heavy usage, all my stuff running.

i can squeeze out 3 if i only run 1-3 apps at a time

I hear Android 2.2 offers significant battery improvement, but i currently only have 2.1

Hmmm, would be good once it comes out to compare them side by side

I charge my phone (iPhone 3G) via my PC or my PS3, whatever happens to be on, is this a good thing? Or is it killing the battery on my phone? My phone last a few hours of web surfing on 3G, which doesn't seem to be right to me. I used to have an external charger from Mophie (I recommend grabbing one, it adds a bit of bulk, but the extra battery comes in handy A LOT), maybe I have gotten spoiled on it?
