Windows antivirus pro. Plus. Win7 Av, premium... whatever else this virus goes by.

So it finally happened. I got infected with a virus yesterday, around this time. It was probably the worst one. It popped up, shut down firefox, and said. "Your computer is infected with a virus blah blah blah." So immediately I open up Hijack this. I was, however, told that hijack this was a virus and had to hit yes literally 12 times to get it to come up.

I removed the fake anti-virus virus off of my computer with hijack this, and have since run scans with nod 32 constantly. It has detected three infected files on my computer. Thankfully these files were the kind that only activate when my computer shuts down. My computer doesn't shut down. (More remnents of the fake av.) After everything was said and done, I find out that I have 1 more remnant of the fake av on my system. It changed EVERY SINGLE SETTING IN EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM ON MY COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!! (i think thats enough exclamation points)

So far I have had to go back and change things to the way I want them in every single program, including games. I think my computer is finally clear, but I would like someone who is smarter than me at reading hijack this logs to help.


Before anyone points it out, the entry listed as BHO-(noname) Is actually in use. Its one of those small little programs that stops windows from getting that black screen and mentioning something about 30 days blah blah blah. Pay no mind.

Run that, if it comes up clean, then there is a 99% chance that you're computer is good to go.

I like combofix, however I would like it if it worked correctly with windows 7 XD. It shows no infected files... but then again, it showed me no infected files on previous win 7 machines that clearly had a virus. I have also had it remove things like steam before because it said steam was supposed to be in Crogramfiles/valve/steam. Instead of steam/steam.
