Will a headset work on a PS3 with this configuration...?

This, [ame]http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-2-0-Mic-Speaker-5-1-Audio-Sound-Card-Adapter-PC-/170476927741?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PCA_Video_Conferencing_Webcams&hash=item27b1377afd#ht_2540wt_952[/ame] , into the PS3 USB port for Mic I/O.

and

This, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...280503418991&ff4=263602_263622#ht_2410wt_1137, attached to the corresponding red/white ones coming from the PS3 and attach the Audio part of my headset to the 3.5MM jack.

According to sites from Google, the USB device will work, but will only input voice, so that's why I need the cable.

I'm going through this hassle, because I'm poor and want to setup voice communication on a friends PS3. I was thinking of a bluetooth headset ( [ame]http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BLUETOOTH-HEADSET-SONY-PLAYSTATION-3-PS3-GAME-/220608804970?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Bluetooth_Wireless_Products&hash=item335d4f386a#ht_2942wt_1137[/ame] ), but I am not sure how much I'd like it. I like sound in both ears, I wouldn't be able to use headphones with it, and I'm too skeptical of the price.

Anyways, do you think it'll work?

The bluetooth headsets are for more of just communication rather than sound. It relies on your home theatre setup still.

Im not sure if something like that workaround will actually work......i know turtlebeach does something similar like that but its all just a pain in the ass IMO.

For my Xbox 360 (i have PS3 also) i got a steelseries adapter and can use any PC headset with my Xbox 360.....i needed a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter also to get everything to work but it works nonetheless and is a good setup. Have a steelseries full size gaming headset btw.

For PS3....i just use a bluetooth headset from like a cellphone to talk to ppl.....sound all comes from the theatre setup.

If i was you, i would just get a bluetooth headset.......i don't really notice footsteps and stuff on console gaming compared to PC gaming.
