Hello :)

Im thinking about buying the Logitech Z-2300.

And i got some questions about it.

- Is it much beter then the X-230
- Do i Need a sound card to get some good quality? Becaus I read some people are complaining, becaus the sound quality is not good. So is a good sound card a fix for this?
- It is about 3 times more expensive then the X-230, is it 3 times beter?
Or a beter questions, it has about 10x more watt, is it 10 times beter?
- Will I notice much diffence in the quallity? Is it worth is spending 119$?

Hope you guys know what I mean:)

Thanks,

BlackBird.

I have had my Logitech Z-2300's for about 6 years now, and they have been absolutely amazing since the day I got them. Very powerful sound, awesome quality, Distortion free up until they are almost deafeningly loud (I've never gotten it to that point.)

bleblablueble, I have no clue what you're talking about. We've got 2 sets of logitech speakers, logitech keyboards, logitech mice, etc. They have all been bulletproof since the day we got them. If there is one area where logitech excels, it is reliability. Their quality is also top notch.

As for your other questions...

-A sound card is a great option if you're an audiophile. Otherwise, you probably won't notice a difference. However, these speakers definitely sound best when paired with a sound card.

-The wattage helps with clarity, but it's mainly an indication of total volume. Lets just say the higher the wattage, the clearer the speakers are at high volumes.

-These speakers are easily worth $119. I spent $150 on them 6 years ago, and I would spend that much again. This is the first speaker set that I've ever bought that I have never thought about replacing. I just don't see the point. They're that good.

It's different for everyone, but I don't think you can go wrong with the Z-2300's. They are a great set of speakers.

OH YEAH. The sound quality is there , believe me. I was having a tough time choosing between the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 and the Z-2300's. Most say they are neck and neck, only complaint i've heard from the Promedia's are the amp's going bad on earlier models but the problem has since then been resolved. Both are THX certified and you will not be dissapointed with either choice. You do get what you pay for.

I would recommend getting a sound card to compliment a high end set of speakers, i went for the ASUS Xonar DX and could not be happier. Got it on ebay for $40 :-) You will smile when you hear the difference in sound quality, though on-board sound is not bad at all . A sound card would be really nice to top it off.

Logitech does make good speakers all the way around, but my 2.1's blow out my bro's Logitech x-540's without a doubt.

Thanks Mad Pistol and dbee :) I prob gone buy it wednesday.

@ bleblablueble The Z-2300 is a speakset :) Not a headset.

You are very welcome Mr. Bird. Did you decide on whether or not to get a soundcard ?

YES YES YES. Get them. Logitech makes some really really nice speaker sets!
I myself own the Z-4 speakers from Logitech.

Nah I dont think i get one. Maybe the one on my motherboard is good enough.
If the sound is not good enough i can always get a sound card after i bought the Z-2300:)

That's a wise decision. Don't fix what isn't broken. :)
