Blindsfell needs some serious help...

My computer is a P.O.S. Strait up. I need some serious help. It is getting so bad that I am ready to quit gaming all together. We wouldn't want that would we? Anyway I am running a Window XP Dell 2000. It's version is the E510 and it's service tag is FNCC5B1. I get an average of 10 FPS and 5 choke. I get so much lagg that it is almost impossible for me to get kills. I am running a wireless router and I am not the pc with the router. I am the link sys. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

That having been said,... does that sound correct to you? You are throwing me off by saying its a dell 2000,.... what is a dell 2000?

If those system specs are correct all you need is a new videocard, because the processor is fine, and i'm not sure ther eis much else you can do short of turning all of your settings off. Basically, you took a $700 bargain computer and are using it for gaming, thats whyt hey make "gaming" copmuters lol.

But seriousely, there might be a few things you can try is its just about the 10 frames a sec, but not a whole lot. If you are finding that windows is slow then it could be you have the remenents of spywarejunk, virus junk, or windowsxpateitselfaliveandneedstobeformated junk. All are possible. So, please give us some more information.

What are the settings which you are running at (video settings that is) and how much do you have asigned to the pagefile.

Some games, I find, have problems running under Media Center 2005. Maybe XP Pro/Home would be a solution. You could also try like GreenMonkey said to get a new Video card. Wireless or not, shouldn't make a difference unless you're getting really bad reception and are running a lot of programs in the background. Sometimes having Internet Explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox in the background, even when not browsing, causes some stuttering because they take considerable resources.

Yea You are right Green Monkey with the system. Also it is mostly just the game. Everything else is fine.

I run them at high because:
1. It looks much better and I can't stand it looking like crap
2. It goes even slower or at the same speed with lower settings. Therefore I see no point in keeping them there.

Well I can tell you that your system specs do not show promise for having video settings on high. Infact, my last computer which was better than the one you are currently using didnt even run everything on high. The fact that you get 10 FPS is a dirrect result of your card not being able to render the immages fast enough at those settings.

Now you say you have tried lower settings and they didnt make a difference. I think that you may have only tried some settings (which, not all settings are video card based). Can you please tell us what resolution you are running at and then I will make a complete list of setting reccomendations to try - if they dont work you can always set them back, but I bet I can get you to a higher FPS.

Edit: P.S. the natural progression of computers with gamming is that beggars cant be choosers. If you have an old video card you can choose to either play at high resolutions or to play with higher FPS. Only with new hardware can you get both and you arent going to find anyone who will get you both with your card. Just so thats clear. Now, The trick is to get is so that you have a balance between a playable fps and the highest settings which allow that.

I highly Reccomend a new Video card, maybe look on boxing day for some sick deals, you can probably find something pretty cheap, and it would help you out alot.
